Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Application Recovery & Cutover Runbook Specialist to support enterprise IT Resilience and Disaster Recovery operations. The primary responsibility of this role is to build, maintain, govern, and execute application cutover and recovery runbooks using the Cutover platform .

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Cutover and runbook management , along with exposure to Disaster Recovery, IT Resilience, Release Management, Change Management, Production Support, or ITSM .

Key Responsibilities

- Create, build, maintain, and execute application cutover and DR runbooks in Cutover.
- Manage the complete runbook lifecycle from intake and build through readiness review, execution, closure, and continuous improvement.
- Convert application recovery, migration, deployment, and operational procedures into clear, step-by-step executable runbooks .
- Define task owners, sequencing, dependencies, prerequisites, validation steps, checkpoints, approvals, and rollback procedures.
- Conduct runbook readiness reviews and dry runs before critical production, migration, and DR events.
- Facilitate Cutover execution , monitor task progress, identify blockers, coordinate dependencies, and escalate risks.
- Work closely with Application, Infrastructure/Cloud, Database, Network, QA, InfoSec, Change Management, and Service Management teams.
- Ensure runbooks are standardized, complete, auditable, and aligned with IT resilience and change-management controls .
- Integrate Cutover activities with ServiceNow/ITSM,



change records, release schedules, and maintenance windows .
- Track and report runbook execution status, completion metrics, missed steps, issues, and post-event outcomes.
- Maintain execution evidence and documentation for audit and compliance purposes .
- Conduct post-implementation reviews (PIRs) and incorporate lessons learned into runbook templates and processes.
- Provide guidance and training to teams adopting Cutover and standardized runbook practices .

Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience with Cutover platform is highly preferred/required.
- Robust experience creating and managing technical runbooks, cutover runbooks, recovery runbooks, or DR runbooks .
- Experience with Disaster Recovery, IT Resilience, Technology Resilience, or Production Operations .
- Experience supporting application cutovers, migrations, releases, DR exercises, or major production events .
- Knowledge of ITIL, ITSM, Change Management, Incident Management, and Release Management .
- Strong understanding of application dependencies, environments, deployment processes, validation, and rollback procedures.
- Strong cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work during after-hours maintenance windows and US business hours when required.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms .
- Financial services or other regulated-industry experience.
- Experience with enterprise-scale DR/resilience testing.
- Familiarity with Agile/DevOps and release management processes.
- Experience with runbook reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and execution metrics.
