We are looking for a 3D Motion Artist who can take production-ready 3D assets and transform them into beautifully animated, lit and rendered visual content.
You'll work closely with the CGI / 3D Motion Lead to execute product films, CGI advertising, product visualisation, interiors and spatial experiences.
This is not primarily a 3D modelling position. Complex product and architectural modelling will generally be handled separately. Your strength should be in what happens after the model is ready:
Animation → Camera → Materials → Lighting → Rendering.
Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 3D product animations, CGI films and photorealistic renders for advertising and product launches.
- Animate products using cinematic camera movements, reveals, transitions and feature-focused sequences.
- Develop realistic materials, shaders, textures and lighting to achieve premium, photorealistic results.
- Create product feature animations, exploded views, component animations and technical visualisations.
- Build, light and dress 3D environments and scenes around supplied product assets.
- Work on interior and spatial visualisation, including still renders and cinematic walkthroughs.
- Create basic simulations, particles and procedural motion where required.
- Work with production-ready 3D models and handle asset cleanup, minor modelling corrections, UVs and scene preparation when needed.
- Create product colour, material and design variants from existing assets.
- Translate storyboards, references and creative direction into polished 3D sequences.
- Optimise scenes, manage render settings and prepare render passes for post-production.
- Collaborate closely with the CGI Lead, AI Video Artist, Motion Graphics and Compositing team.
- Iterate efficiently based on creative and client feedback while maintaining consistency across complete campaigns.
- Continuously explore recent CGI, rendering, simulation and AI-assisted 3D workflows to improve production quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of professional experience in 3D animation, CGI, product visualisation or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Blender and/or Cinema 4D.
- Hands-on experience with rendering engines such as Cycles, Redshift, Octane, Arnold or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of 3D animation, lighting, materials, shading, camera movement, composition and photorealistic rendering.
- Ability to create premium product animations, cinematic reveals and high-quality still renders.
- Working knowledge of PBR materials, UVs, texturing, render passes and scene optimisation.
- Basic understanding of 3D modelling and topology to clean up, modify and prepare supplied models for production.
- Experience with After Effects and Photoshop is preferred.
- Experience with Geometry Nodes, simulations, particles, cloth, fluids, Houdini or Unreal Engine is a plus.
- Strong visual sense with an understanding of cinematography, product photography and advertising aesthetics.
- Ability to interpret storyboards, references and creative direction and translate them into finished CGI sequences.
- Comfortable working collaboratively, receiving feedback and delivering within commercial production timelines.
- Strong portfolio/showreel is mandatory, preferably demonstrating product CGI, consumer electronics, automotive, FMCG, beauty, interiors or other photorealistic 3D work.
- Formal education in Animation, VFX, 3D Design or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory — portfolio quality and demonstrated ability matter more.
What we're looking for?
Someone who
- Has excellent visual taste
- Is obsessed with lighting and detail
- Understands cinematic camera movement
- Can work independently once given creative direction
- Is comfortable experimenting and solving technical problems
- Takes feedback well and iterates quickly
- Understands commercial deadlines
- Is curious about new CGI, real-time and AI-assisted workflows
- Wants to create advertising-quality work rather than simply render 3D models
