1. Key Responsibilities Student Counselling and Support

- Provide individual counselling to students experiencing social, emotional, behavioural, or academic challenges
- Facilitate small group counselling sessions addressing issues such as friendships, emotional regulation, resilience, and stress management
- Support students during transitions between school programmes
- Provide crisis intervention when required

Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
- Design and support the implementation of Social Emotional Learning programmes
- Deliver wellbeing sessions or workshops for students
- Promote development of skills such as:

- emotional awareness
- empathy
- communication
- conflict resolution
- self-management
- resilience

Collaboration with Teachers
- Work closely with teachers to support student wellbeing in the classroom
- Provide strategies for managing behavioural and emotional concerns
- Participate in student support meetings and case discussions

Parent Partnership
- Communicate with parents regarding student wellbeing concerns
- Provide guidance and support for families
- Conduct parent workshops or information sessions on wellbeing topics

Safeguarding and Student Protection
- Follow school safeguarding and child protection policies
- Identify and report student welfare concerns appropriately
- Maintain confidential and accurate records

Wellbeing Initiatives
- Support the development of school-wide wellbeing programmes
- Contribute to wellbeing events, campaigns, and awareness activities




- Promote a positive and inclusive school climate

Collaboration with Wellbeing Team:
The Social Emotional Counsellor works closely with:

- Head of Wellbeing
- Special Educators
- Programme Coordinators
- Teachers
- School Leadership
- External professionals when required

2. Qualified Responsibilities
- Maintain confidential counselling records
- Participate in wellbeing team meetings
- Contribute to school policies related to wellbeing and inclusion
- Engage in continuous professional development related to student mental health and counselling practices

3. Qualifications
- Master s degree in Psychology / Counselling / School Counselling / Child Development
- Professional counselling training
- Experience working with children or adolescents

4. Skills and Competencies
- Strong counselling and interpersonal skills
- Empathy and cultural sensitivity
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and parents
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
