About The Role

Job Title: HOD – Maintenance & Repair Location: Gurgaon Department: Fleet Maintenance Experience: 10+ Years Industry: Automobile Logistics, Car Carrier Operations Job Summary We are looking for an experienced HOD – Maintenance & Repair to lead the maintenance operations of a large commercial vehicle fleet. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance, workshop management, vendor development, spare parts planning, cost optimization, and team leadership within the transportation or automobile logistics industry. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end maintenance and repair operations for the entire fleet. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to maximize vehicle uptime. Oversee workshop operations, breakdown management, and emergency repairs. Ensure timely servicing and repairs of trucks, trailers, and car carriers. Monitor vehicle health, maintenance KPIs, and downtime analysis. Manage AMC contracts and coordinate with OEMs, authorized service centers, and external workshops. Develop and manage vendor relationships for repairs, spare parts, tyres, batteries, and lubricants.



Control maintenance budgets and optimize repair costs without compromising quality. Ensure availability and inventory control of critical spare parts. Lead root cause analysis of recurring breakdowns and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and quality standards. Prepare maintenance MIS reports, fleet performance dashboards, and management presentations. Recruit, train, and lead maintenance engineers, workshop supervisors, and technicians. Coordinate closely with Operations, Fleet, Finance, and Procurement teams to ensure smooth vehicle availability. Experience handling large fleets of commercial vehicles and trailers. Familiarity with fleet management software and ERP systems is preferred. Qualification B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications in Fleet Maintenance or Lean/Six Sigma will be an advantage.
