CivicScholar serves citizens, researchers, and institutions by making research more participatory, socially relevant, and grounded in community experiences. Its model is built for scale through university subscriptions, research grants, and institutional or government partnerships.

Role Description The Outreach Manager will lead CivicScholar’s on-the-ground engagement efforts in Haridwar, working full time on-site to connect citizens, researchers, and institutions with the platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing outreach campaigns, organizing community events and workshops, and building partnerships with universities, local organizations, and policymakers. The role involves presenting CivicScholar’s value, onboarding new users, supporting them through the project lifecycle, and gathering feedback to improve platform adoption and impact.

Manager will also coordinate cross-functional projects with product and research teams, maintain detailed outreach and project records, and prepare regular reports on engagement metrics and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

- Strong Communication skills, including clear public speaking, presentation, and writing abilities.

- Public Relations experience, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with community groups, academic institutions, and media.

- Project Management skills to plan, organize, and track outreach initiatives and cooperative projects.

- Community Outreach experience, including organizing events, workshops, and campaigns that encourage participation.

- Sales and stakeholder engagement skills to articulate CivicScholar’s value and drive platform adoption.

- Experience working with or within academic, research, or social impact organizations is beneficial.

- Comfort with digital tools and basic data tracking to manage contacts, events, and outreach metrics.

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Public Policy, Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity when engaging diverse communities.
