? Role Overview

We are looking for a highly driven Assistant Manager – Supply Chain & Operations to support and manage daily execution across order processing, procurement, inventory, warehousing, logistics,

vendor management, and D2C operations.

Reporting directly to the Head – Supply Chain & Operations, you will act as a key execution partner responsible for ensuring that orders move smoothly, inventory remains healthy, vendors perform reliably, and operational issues are resolved before they impact customers or business growth.

This is not a desk-only role. You will be expected to work across dashboards, warehouses, vendor locations, distribution points, and cross-functional teams while using technology and AI tools to improve operational speed and efficiency.

? Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain & Daily Operations

- Support and oversee daily supply chain execution across order booking, order processing, procurement, inventory management, fulfilment, and logistics.
- Ensure smooth coordination between warehouses, suppliers, vendors, distributors, logistics partners, and internal teams.
- Monitor daily operational activities and proactively identify bottlenecks, delays, or supply risks.
- Support the Supply Chain Head in implementing operational plans and ensuring timely execution.
- Maintain strong operational discipline across purchase orders, inventory movement, order fulfilment, and dispatch.

Warehouse & Fulfilment Operations

- Coordinate closely with warehouse teams across receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and fulfilment.
- Monitor order processing timelines and ensure adherence to defined Turnaround Times (TATs).
- Support warehouse inventory accuracy and reconciliation processes.
- Identify operational gaps across fulfilment and recommend process improvements.
- Assist in improving warehouse productivity, order accuracy, and dispatch efficiency.
- Visit warehouses regularly to review processes, identify issues, and ensure smooth execution.

Supply Chain & Procurement

- Support procurement planning and execution across products, packaging materials, and operational requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely availability of materials and finished goods.
- Track purchase orders from creation to delivery and proactively follow up on delays.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve procurement-related issues in real time.
- Support vendor negotiations, cost comparisons, and supplier performance reviews.




- Assist in identifying alternate vendors and suppliers to reduce dependency and supply chain risk.

Inventory Planning & Demand Forecasting

- Support demand planning and inventory replenishment cycles across SKUs and sales channels.
- Track inventory levels and flag potential stock-outs, excess inventory, or slow-moving stock before they become business issues.
- Work with Sales, Marketing, Warehouse, and Finance teams to understand demand requirements.
- Maintain inventory planning trackers and support replenishment decisions.
- Monitor inventory turns and identify opportunities to improve working capital efficiency.
- Support demand forecasting using historical sales data, trends, promotions, and business inputs.

D2C Operations & Logistics

- Manage and monitor D2C order operations across fulfilment, shipping, delivery, returns, and customer-related operational issues.
- Track TAT, delivery performance, Return-to-Origin (RTO), Non-Delivery Reports (NDR), and logistics exceptions.
- Coordinate with courier partners, 3PL providers, and logistics vendors to resolve delivery issues.
- Identify opportunities to reduce shipping costs, RTO, failed deliveries, and operational leakage.
- Monitor courier performance and ensure adherence to agreed service levels.
- Support cost optimisation initiatives across fulfilment and logistics.

2Vendor, 3PL & Distributor Management

- Manage day-to-day communication and coordination with vendors, suppliers, 3PL partners, distributors, and logistics providers.
- Troubleshoot operational issues in real time and drive them toward timely resolution.
- Track vendor performance against agreed timelines, costs, quality parameters, and service levels.
- Support vendor meetings, reviews, and commercial discussions.
- Visit vendor locations, warehouses, and distribution points whenever required.
- Ensure timely follow-ups and closure of pending operational actions.

Business Performance & Reporting

- Track key supply chain metrics including Fill Rate, OTIF, Inventory Turns, PO Cycle Time, Order processing Time, TAT, RTO, and logistics costs.
- Prepare regular MIS reports and operational dashboards for the Supply Chain Head and leadership.
- Analyse operational data to identify trends, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide clear, data-backed insights instead of simply reporting numbers.
- Track operational costs and assist in identifying opportunities to improve supply chain economics.
- Support monthly and quarterly supply chain reviews.

Technology, AI & Process Excellence

- Use AI tools in daily supply chain operations to improve speed, accuracy, and productivity.
- Leverage AI for demand forecasting support, inventory anomaly detection, vendor communication, MIS automation, analysis, and reporting.
- Build quick dashboards, models, trackers, and operational tools to improve visibility and decision-making.
- Identify repetitive manual processes and implement automation wherever possible.
- Support the implementation and optimisation of ERP, OMS, WMS, inventory management, and operational systems.
- Continuously identify opportunities to simplify processes and reduce manual effort across the supply chain.




- Maintain process documentation and SOPs across operational activities.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate closely with Sales, Marketing, Warehouse, Finance, Customer Service, and other internal teams.
- Ensure operational readiness for promotions, campaigns, product launches, and increased demand periods.
- Communicate supply constraints, inventory risks, delays, and operational issues proactively to relevant stakeholders.
- Work closely with Customer Service teams to resolve supply-chain-related customer issues.
- Support the Supply Chain Head in ensuring alignment across different operational stakeholders.

3Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

- Identify gaps and inefficiencies across procurement, inventory, warehouse, fulfilment, and logistics operations.
- Recommend and implement practical process improvements.
- Help standardise operational workflows, trackers, and SOPs.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring supply chain and fulfilment issues.
- Support initiatives aimed at reducing errors, improving service levels, and lowering operating costs.
- Drive continuous improvement with a strong bias toward execution.

? Experience & Qualifications

- 3–4 years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, Inventory Planning, Warehousing, Fulfilment, or Logistics.
- Experience within high-growth D2C, FMCG, Consumer Goods, Retail, E-commerce, or similar businesses.
- Strong understanding of order processing, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics operations.
- Prior experience managing vendors, suppliers, logistics partners, 3PLs, or distributors.
- Understanding of D2C operational metrics including TAT, RTO, delivery SLAs, and cost per order.
- Experience working with operational data, MIS, dashboards, and performance trackers.
- Ability to independently handle operational issues and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to warehouses, vendor locations, and distribution points as required.
