SQL Server DBA

- The scope of this job is SQL database administration, which is responsible for the installation, testing, configuration, trouble shooting and maintenance of SQL Server 2008/12/14,16,17,19 technologies. Establishes and documents standards and procedures for management review. The candidate should have been able to create, implement process, making the database administration support model more efficient.

The ability to follow instructions both written and verbal is paramount as well as the ability to multi-task. Strong verbal skills are a must. Flexible work schedule is a must.

Job Responsibilities

- Strong in operations management, technical skills and client service.

- Database operations:

- Passionate on troubleshooting and resolving issues.

- Perform standard Oracle or SQL Server database administration tasks, such as database monitoring, issue triaging.

- Knowledge / working experience with SQL Server.

- Able to identify and resolve first level of issues / alerts.

- Diagnose and resolve database problems.

- Should be able Participate in Oracle or SQL server 24x7 support on-call rotational shifts.

- Knowledge / Experience of working on Linux systems.

- Able to escalate the issues to next level of support team members in case not able to understand/ resolve it.

- Able to take ownership of the activities during the shift

- Able to clearly communicate the support issues to DBA teams in US and India

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Skills, Education And Experience

- A relevant B.E./AMIE/IETE (Electronics/Electronics communication, Computer science); previous experience in IT may also qualify.

- 0-2 years of SQL Server DBA experience on installation, testing, commissioning, trouble shooting on production and development servers

- Strong analytical, problem solving skills to understand and anticipate the impact and opportunities across multiple projects.

- Knowledge on Windows operating systems.



Candidate should be able to manage backup environments with heterogeneous operating systems.

- Good knowledge on ITIL processes. Added advantage if ITIL foundation Certified

- Demonstrates an authoritative and professional manner in verbal, written and telephone communications.

- good knowledge of relational database management system and principles.

- Good knowledge of scripting.

- Demonstrate ability to learn new database technologies while on the job.

- Be self-reliant and self-driven.

- Have robust analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to pay meticulous attention to details.

- Ability to meet goals and deadlines.

- Ability to quickly diagnose issues and come up with solutions and/or workarounds.

- Ability to work independently or collaboratively and maintain a positive attitude.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism always.

- Exercise self-control under trying or tough circumstances, situations, or under any kind of pressure.

- Availability for after-hours and weekend work based on the business need.
