Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate, creative, and highly skilled Music Teacher to join our IB and Cambridge International school. The ideal candidate will have strong subject expertise, excellent communication skills, and proven experience in teaching music in a school setting. The candidate should be capable of nurturing students' musical abilities while contributing actively to the school's cultural and performing arts programmes.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate music lessons aligned with the IB philosophy and approaches to teaching and learning.
- Develop students' musical knowledge, skills, creativity, confidence, and appreciation of different musical traditions and genres.
- Plan and implement a structured music curriculum that caters to varied levels of student ability and interest.
- Conduct practical music sessions, including vocal and instrumental training, rhythm, theory, composition, performance, and ensemble work.
- Identify and nurture students with specific musical talents and provide opportunities for advanced development.
- Organise and conduct school-level musical events, concerts, competitions, and performances.
- Take a lead role in planning, organising, rehearsing, coordinating, and directing Annual Day and major school productions.
- Direct and coordinate musical productions, stage performances, concerts, and inter-school showcases.
- Prepare students for inter-school competitions, music festivals, showcases, and external performances.
- Coordinate with teachers, school leadership, production teams, choreographers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful performances.
- Manage rehearsals effectively,



including scheduling, student coordination, performance planning, and stage readiness.
- Develop and maintain school choirs, bands, ensembles, or other musical groups as appropriate.
- Contribute to the school's wider performing arts and co-curricular programmes.
- Support students in developing collaboration, discipline, confidence, creativity, communication, and leadership skills through music.
- Maintain appropriate records of student progress and provide constructive feedback on musical development.
- Participate actively in school events, assemblies, celebrations, and community programmes.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to create meaningful interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, respectful, and stimulating learning setting for all students.
- Stay updated with current developments in music education, IB pedagogy, performance practices, and contemporary approaches to teaching and learning.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Postgraduate qualification in Music from a recognised institution.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Music Teacher in a school, preferably in an international/IB school.
- Demonstrated experience in organising and directing musical events and productions.
- Experience in conducting Annual Day programmes, concerts, musical productions, and inter-school showcases.
- Strong vocal and/or instrumental skills with the ability to train and mentor students.
- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational, planning, coordination, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, parents, and school leadership.
- A creative, energetic, and student-centred approach to music education.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
