Role Overview

We are looking for an Automation Test Engineer with solid experience in test automation, API automation, data validation, integration testing, and end-to-end testing for cloud-based applications. The role will focus on automating testing for industrial IoT, time-series data, machine learning, real-time analytics, Python/FastAPI services, Azure integrations, and data pipelines. The ideal candidate should be skilled in designing scalable automation frameworks and validating system functionality, data accuracy, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts for web, API, backend, and data-driven applications.
- Develop automated tests for REST/FastAPI APIs, including request/response validation, authentication, error handling, and integration scenarios.
- Automate end-to-end business workflows across applications, APIs, databases, data pipelines, and cloud services.
- Perform automated functional, regression, integration, system, and smoke testing.
- Automate validation of time-series, telemetry, sensor, and industrial equipment data.
- Perform database and data validation testing using SQL to verify data integrity, transformations, and pipeline outputs.
- Develop automated tests to validate ML model outputs, including anomaly detection, forecasting, regression, and predictive maintenance scenarios.
- Automate real-time data and communication testing using WebSockets and IoT integrations where applicable.
- Perform performance, load, and scalability testing for APIs, data pipelines, and real-time services using tools such as JMeter.
- Validate integrations with Azure services, Azure SQL/PostgreSQL, Azure ML, IoT services, and other cloud components.




- Automate validation of Power BI dashboards and analytical data where applicable.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and execute tests as part of DevOps processes.
- Analyze test failures, identify root causes, log defects, and work closely with developers and ML/data engineering teams to resolve issues.
- Maintain test scripts, test data, automation documentation, and execution reports using Azure DevOps/Git.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Strong experience in test automation using Python, Java, or similar programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with API automation, REST APIs, JSON, Postman, and FastAPI.
- Experience with automation frameworks such as Pytest, Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database automation/testing, preferably Azure SQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience automating data validation, data pipelines, ETL/data transformation, and integration testing.
- Understanding of Machine Learning testing and validation, including anomaly detection, forecasting, regression, and predictive maintenance.
- Experience testing time-series, telemetry, sensor, or IoT data is highly preferred.
- Experience with Azure cloud services and CI/CD automation.
- Knowledge of performance and load testing using JMeter or similar tools.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, test reporting, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with WebSockets and real-time communication testing.
- Exposure to MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus, SCADA, or Industrial IoT is an added advantage.
- Experience with Power BI/dashboard validation is a plus.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
