About the Role

n

We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead to own and drive the technology function across front-end and back-end development. You will lead a team of developers, take architectural and technical decisions, and ensure the timely, high-quality delivery of web applications and features. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Laravel and JavaScript, along with the ability to mentor a team, review code, and collaborate closely with product, design, and operations to build scalable systems for a fast-growing e-commerce jewellery brand.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of full stack web applications across front-end and back-end.
n
- Own technical architecture decisions for the platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
n
- Manage, mentor, and guide a team of front-end and back-end developers, setting best practices and coding standards.
n
- Review code, conduct design/architecture reviews, and ensure quality across the codebase.
n
- Plan sprints, break down requirements into technical tasks, and manage timelines and delivery.
n
- Build and maintain backend systems and APIs using Laravel, and oversee front-end development using JavaScript.
n
- Identify technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and process gaps, and drive fixes and improvements.
n
- Collaborate with product, design, QA, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
n
- Oversee deployments, CI/CD pipelines,



and production stability, and lead incident resolution when issues arise.
n
- Evaluate and introduce current tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve the tech stack.
n

Requirements

n

n
- 10–12 years of hands-on software development experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior technical role.
n
- Strong hands-on expertise in Laravel (PHP framework) for backend development.
n
- Strong command of JavaScript, with solid experience across both front-end and back-end development.
n
- Proven experience architecting and scaling web applications and RESTful APIs.
n
- Experience managing or mentoring a team of developers.
n
- Strong understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL), system design, and application security.
n
- Hands-on experience with Git, code review processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
n
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound technical trade-offs.
n
- Excellent communication skills to work across engineering, product, and business teams.
n

Preferred Background

n

n
- Experience with Node.js and Express in addition to Laravel.
n
- Familiarity with a modern front-end framework such as React or Vue.
n
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar) and containerized deployments (Docker).
n
- Experience working in a fast-growing startup or scale-up environment.
n
