Role Overview

Expert Education & Visa Services is seeking an experienced and student-focused Senior Counsellor – UK & Europe to join its Kolkata office.

n

The Senior Counsellor will be responsible for providing personalised guidance to students interested in pursuing higher education in the United Kingdom and European countries.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

- Conduct detailed one-on-one counselling sessions with prospective students and their families.
n
- Assess students' academic qualifications, financial capacity, career objectives, preferred destinations, and long-term aspirations.
n
- Recommend suitable universities, institutions, courses, and study destinations across the UK and Europe.
n
- Provide accurate and updated information regarding entry requirements, tuition fees, scholarships, intakes, application timelines, visa requirements, and post-study opportunities.
n
- Manage the complete admission process, from initial counselling to enrolment and pre-departure preparation.
n
- Assist students with university applications, statements of purpose, supporting documents, scholarship applications, and other admission requirements.
n
- Coordinate with university representatives and admissions teams regarding applications, offers, conditions, and student-related queries.
n
- Work towards individual and branch-level counselling, application, conversion, and enrolment targets.
n
- Develop and maintain strong interpersonal and professional relationships with university partners, institutional representatives, stakeholders, and internal teams.
n
- Participate in university visits,



education fairs, admission days, seminars, webinars, workshops, and student engagement activities.
n
- Support local marketing and outreach initiatives by providing destination-specific information and counselling expertise.
n
- Stay updated on changes in UK and European education policies, admission criteria, visa regulations, compliance requirements, and market developments.
n

Qualifications and Experience

n

n
- A minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience in overseas education counselling, student recruitment, international admissions, education consulting, or a related field.
n
- Proven experience in counselling and handling students interested in studying in the UK and European destinations.
n
- Strong understanding of the UK and European higher education systems, admission procedures, university requirements, and application timelines.
n
- Demonstrated ability to assess student profiles and recommend suitable institutions, courses, and destinations.
n
- Strong professional and interpersonal relationships with university representatives, education partners, stakeholders, students, and families.
n
- A bachelor's degree in any discipline is required.

- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication abilities.

- Strong relationship-management skills for working with universities, partners, and external stakeholders.

- Good understanding of student recruitment, lead conversion, and enrolment processes.

- Ability to interpret student data, monitor application progress, and prepare performance reports.
n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM platforms, and student management systems.
n
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with counselling, admissions, marketing, compliance, and operations teams.
n
- A target-oriented approach with a solid sense of responsibility and ownership.
n
- High standards of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and ethical counselling.
