Role & responsibilities
The ICU nurse's primary responsibility is to provide continuous, protected, evidence-based care to critically ill patients, recognize deterioration early, support life-sustaining treatments, and coordinate effectively with the healthcare team.
Preferred candidate profile
Perform a systematic head-to-toe assessment.
Monitor vital signs and other ICU parameters at the prescribed frequency.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
Maintain accurate intake/output and fluid-balance records.
Monitor for deterioration and report significant changes immediately.
Maintain airway, ventilator, catheter, drain, and IV-line care.
Provide regular repositioning and skin care.
Maintain complete and accurate nursing documentation.
Give a explicit handover to the incoming nurse.
