We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL Database Developer with robust expertise in database design, advanced SQL development, query optimization, and performance tuning. The ideal candidate will work closely with application teams to design scalable database solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, and ChatGPT to improve productivity and code quality.

Key Responsibilities
Design and maintain scalable PostgreSQL database schemas and data models.
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, CTEs, views, materialized views, functions, procedures, and triggers.
Analyze and tune database performance using EXPLAIN/EXPLAIN ANALYZE, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization techniques.
Design and maintain primary keys, foreign keys, constraints, indexes, and relationships.
Support developers with query development, troubleshooting, and database best practices.
Develop data migration, validation, and reconciliation scripts.
Investigate and resolve performance issues, locking/deadlocks, and data integrity concerns.
Conduct database code reviews and establish development standards.




Utilize AI tools to accelerate query development, troubleshooting, documentation, and database analysis while validating all AI-generated outputs.

Required Skills
10+ years of hands-on PostgreSQL experience.
Solid expertise in:
SQL and advanced query development
Database design and normalization
Complex joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions
Functions, procedures, triggers, and transactions
Indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning
Large-scale data processing and migrations
Query plan analysis and troubleshooting
Experience working closely with application development teams.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience using AI development assistants (Claude, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.).

Preferred Skills
AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, Azure PostgreSQL, or Google Cloud SQL.
Node.js, Python, Java, Prisma, or similar backend technologies.
ETL and data migration tools.
Database monitoring and CI/CD practices.
Agile/Scrum experience.
