Minimum 3 years shipyard experience preferred.
Carry out surface preparation, smoothing, and finishing of metal structures, hulls, and pipes using angle grinders, pneumatic tools, and heavy-duty grinding equipment.
Prepare metal edges for welding (including beveling and chamfering) and remove excess weld reinforcement, spatter, slag, and surface defects.
Inspect ground surfaces to ensure they meet quality and smoothness specifications before coating, testing, or final assembly
Assist fitters, fabricators, and welders with metal preparation, alignment, and finishing tasks as required.
Follow strict HSE guidelines, use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as face shields and respiratory gear, and ensure protected operation of high-speed rotating tools
Coordinate with supervisors, fitters, and welders for smooth workflow execution.
Maintain rigorous housekeeping at the work area, ensuring protected management and disposal of metal scrap, dust, and grinding debris.
