About the Role

Cognus is looking for a Fractional Head of Engineering to provide senior technical leadership across Gradding and MySIPOnline. The role will initially focus on leading the MySIPOnline rebuild, strengthening Gradding's existing engineering team, and establishing scalable, AI-driven engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities
Own technical roadmap, architecture and engineering execution across both businesses.
Lead and mentor Tech Leads and build a high-performing engineering culture.
Drive the MySIPOnline rebuild from architecture to production.
Strengthen Gradding's platform, engineering standards and AI-agent roadmap.
Establish AI-assisted workflows across coding, testing, reviews and releases.
Drive CI/CD, observability, security, reliability, incident response and technical debt management.
Guide production LLM and conversational-agent development with focus on evaluation, cost, latency and reliability.
Improve developer productivity through automation and agent-driven engineering practices.

Requirements
8+ years in software engineering with 3+ years in technical leadership.




Hands-on expertise in TypeScript, Node.js/NestJS, React/Next.js.
Solid MySQL/PostgreSQL expertise, including performance optimisation.
Experience with Redis, BullMQ or equivalent queues/caching systems.
Experience with Sentry/APM, monitoring, alerting and production support.
Proven experience implementing AI/agent-driven engineering workflows.
Experience shipping LLM features or conversational agents to production.
Solid plus: FinTech/WealthTech, regulated or transaction-heavy platform experience.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
