Designation: Power BI Presales Consultant

Mandatory Expectations:
Solid client communication and stakeholder management skills
Proven experience in requirement gathering and documentation
Experience in drafting client proposals and solution decks
Ability to understand and interpret business needs and translate them into functional requirements
Experience in conducting client workshops and technical discussions
Solid presentation skills using business data
Cooperative mindset to work closely with internal sales and delivery teams
Proactive attitude with the ability to own and drive presales engagements from discovery to closure

Preferred Expectations:
Proficiency in Power BI including Power Query, DAX, Power BI Service, and Dataflows
Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data visualization best practices
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics)
Knowledge of scripting languages like SQL, Python, or R • Exposure to other BI platforms such as Tableau, QlikView, or Looker
Microsoft certification in Power BI or related technologies
Experience working with industry-specific analytics solutions (e.g., finance, retail, healthcare)




Background in preparing RFP/RFI responses and technical solutioning documents

Job Specific:
Act as a key presales consultant for Power BI opportunities, supporting the sales lifecycle from discovery to proposal submission
Collaborate with clients to understand their analytical requirements, use cases, and data maturity
Conduct discovery sessions, technical workshops, and whiteboarding exercises to define the solution scope
Create solution architecture, functional design documents, and visual demos tailored to client needs
Develop and present Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to demonstrate Power BI capabilities and validate use cases
Partner with sales, product, and technical teams to define the go-to-market strategy and solution positioning
Draft technical proposals, estimation models, and effort breakdowns in alignment with client expectations
Contribute to building reusable collateral, templates, and accelerators to streamline presales processes
Stay updated with the latest trends, features, and best practices within Power BI and the broader Microsoft data ecosystem
