Auditmann is a B2B SaaS product for Chartered Accountancy firms in India. We are replacing work that firms currently do across spreadsheets and several disconnected tools.
You are our first front-end hire, joining early enough to set the architecture, component library and interaction conventions for the entire product.
The hard part. At the core of the product is a spreadsheet-grade interface over hierarchical financial data: a frozen label column, many numeric columns, editable cells, drill-down into the detail behind any figure, and totals that recompute up a tree as values change. Keyboard-first, because our users are rapid in Excel and will not tolerate reaching for a mouse. Correctness carries more weight here than polish, since a wrong figure renders happily instead of throwing.
Stack: Next.js 16 App Router, React 19, TypeScript strict, Tailwind v4, shadcn on Base UI, TanStack Query, zod.
Self-hosted.
You need:
Virtualised, editable data grid experience. Weighted most heavily.
TypeScript by default, not as a checkbox.
Normalised state with derived selectors, and render performance under mutation.
Server-state caching with optimistic updates. Not a global Redux store holding server data.
2 to 5 years, including one data-heavy product you can describe in real depth.
Advantage: accounting, tax, ERP or lending software. Or a broker terminal, which is the same shape in a different domain.
Process: 30-minute call, paid 5-hour trial task in our repo, founder round.
Apply with your CV and one paragraph on the most complex interface you have built.
