We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to develop, maintain, and support production-ready electrical designs and documentation for electronic products. The role combines hands-on expertise in schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, BOM management, and engineering documentation.

The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in OrCAD, a thorough understanding of electronic components and PCB design practices, and experience maintaining accurate engineering records throughout the product lifecycle. You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure designs remain accurate, buildable, and properly controlled.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Create, revise, and maintain electrical schematics and PCB layouts using OrCAD tools.
- Develop and maintain standardised electrical drawing templates, including title blocks, formats, libraries, and documentation standards.
- Update electrical drawings and engineering documentation based on design changes, production feedback, and current product configurations.
- Review and maintain electronic component BOMs in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Correct BOM discrepancies related to part numbers, quantities, descriptions, revisions, and other component information.
- Research and evaluate alternate electronic components based on electrical specifications, form-fit-function equivalency, availability, lifecycle status, and cost.
- Create and maintain approved alternate parts lists with appropriate technical justification and supporting documentation.
- Perform design reviews and engineering checks for schematic integrity, PCB layout quality, manufacturability, testability, and documentation completeness.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to resolve component, BOM, drawing, and production-related issues.




- Support engineering change processes and ensure accurate revision control across drawings, BOMs, and associated design records.
- Maintain component libraries, drawing standards, and engineering documentation in accordance with established processes.
- Identify and resolve design or documentation discrepancies before they impact manufacturing or production.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of electrical design, documentation, and BOM management processes.

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT

- 7+ years of skilled experience in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience in electrical schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Demonstrated proficiency with OrCAD schematic capture, PCB layout, drawing templates, and component libraries.
- Strong experience creating, reviewing, updating, and controlling electrical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Experience managing electronic component BOMs and approved alternate parts lists.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for BOM review, correction, and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of electronic components, datasheets, specifications, component selection, and lifecycle management.
- Ability to assess component alternatives based on form, fit, function, availability, lifecycle, and cost.
- Good understanding of PCB design, manufacturability, testability, and production requirements.
- Strong knowledge of engineering change management, revision control, and technical documentation practices.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to identify technical discrepancies and develop practical, production-ready solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and Operations teams.
- Comfortable working in a production-focused environment where accuracy, documentation quality, and design reliability are critical.
