QA Automation Engineer – Job Description

Experience: 3–5 Years

Primary Skills — Test Automation

- Strong hands-on experience in Test Automation using Playwright and Java, with the ability to design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks (Page Object Model, Data-Driven, or BDD/Cucumber).

- Proficient in writing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.

- Experience with API testing and automation using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI.

- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, or similar) for continuous testing and build integration.

- Solid understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Agile/Scrum methodologies, and defect lifecycle management.

- Strong analytical and documentation skills — able to write clear test plans, test cases, and defect reports.

- Identify, log, track, and re-test bugs using tools like Jira, collaborating closely with developers to drive resolution.

- Positive understanding of AI-driven testing approaches/tools (test case generation, automation acceleration, defect prediction).

Secondary Skills — OMS / Domain Knowledge

- Exposure to IBM Sterling Order Management (Selling cloud version preferred)



or equivalent Order Management System is highly desirable; IBM Sterling OMS Certification is a plus.

- Familiarity with Order Management workflows — order capture, fulfillment, inventory, shipment, returns, etc.

- Experience testing configurations, customizations, or Java-based extensions built on an OMS platform is an advantage.

- Working knowledge of testing OMS integrations with enterprise applications (build/deployment validation, integration testing), Java/EE, Oracle, and Middleware-based systems.

- Familiarity with Kafka-based messaging/event validation is a plus.

- Familiarity with IBM call center integrations is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases/scripts to validate application functionality, configurations, and integrations.

- Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing across core business workflows.

- Collaborate with the development team to review requirements, identify test scenarios, and ensure quality across releases.

- Support patch/upgrade validation, configuration testing, and defect triage across releases.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams (developers, business analysts, product owners) in an Agile Scrum environment.
