Job Title: AIX/Linux Systems Administrator (AIX, HA, VIO, RHEL, Pacemaker, VCS, Ansible, Chef, Scripting, Automation)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Systems Administrator with expertise in AIX, VIO, HA, RHEL, and high availability (HA) solutions, including Pacemaker and Veritas Cluster Services (VCS). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in system installation, upgrades, patching, automation, and the packaging of Ansible playbooks and Chef recipes. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our infrastructure, ensuring high system availability, and driving automation through Ansible and Chef for improved operational efficiency.
This position is ideal for someone with deep technical knowledge of AIX, RHEL, and automation tools, ready to contribute to a high-performance IT environment in BFSI domain.
Key Responsibilities:
System Installation & Configuration:
Install, configure, and maintain AIX, VIO and RHEL systems.
Manage system installations, virtual I/O (VIO) configurations, and ensure optimal performance.
Set up, manage, and optimize physical and virtualized environments for AIX and RHEL systems.
High Availability (HA) Management & Clustering:
Configure, implement, and maintain high availability clusters using IBM HA, Pacemaker and Veritas Cluster Services (VCS).
Perform regular monitoring and troubleshooting of HA environments to ensure seamless failover and redundancy.
Ensure proper configuration of shared storage and clustering resources across AIX and RHEL environments.
System Upgrades:
Plan, execute, and manage system upgrades for both AIX and VIO RHEL environments.
Automation & Configuration Management:
Develop, manage, and optimize Ansible playbooks and Chef recipes for system deployment, configuration, and automation.
Automate administrative tasks such as system backups, patching, configuration management, and monitoring.
Create custom scripts (using Bash, Python,



or Perl) to automate routine tasks and processes.
Virtualization Management (IBM VIO & Linux VM):
Manage and troubleshoot Virtual I/O (VIO) server configurations for AIX and RHEL systems in virtualized environments.
Oversee virtual resource allocation, storage management, and networking for virtualized systems.
System Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Troubleshoot system performance issues, network problems, and hardware failures across AIX and RHEL systems.
Analyze logs, metrics, and alerts to identify and resolve issues proactively.
Packaging & Distribution:
Package and distribute Ansible playbooks and Chef recipes for system configurations and application deployments.
Ensure proper version control and repository management for automation playbooks and scripts.
Documentation & Compliance:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems, configurations, and automation scripts.
Ensure adherence to company IT policies, best practices, and security standards.
Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with cross-functional teams (Dev Ops, Network, Security) to ensure system reliability and resolve complex technical issues
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
Extensive years of experience in AIX, VIO, HA and RHEL system administration, Pacemaker, VCS including system installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Hands-on experience with Pacemaker for high availability clustering and Veritas Cluster Services (VCS) in AIX/RHEL environments.




Strong experience with configuration management and automation using tools such as Ansible, Chef, and scripting (Bash, Python).
Experience with virtualization management and VIO configurations in a highly available, clustered environment.
Valuable experience in ITIL process, Service Now, Incident Management, Change Management, Problem management.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in managing AIX systems including VIO, RHEL, LPARs, VMs, and shared storage configurations.
Strong knowledge of Linux systems (RHEL) including installation, upgrades, and patching.
Strong knowledge in Kerberos implementation and configuration in Unix/Linux sytems.
Expertise in managing and troubleshooting high availability clusters, using Pacemaker and VCS.
Hands-on experience with Chef and Ansible for automation, configuration management, and system packaging.
Additional Skills:
Ability to write complex automation scripts and troubleshoot automation failures.
Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS) and their integration with AIX/RHEL environments.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications:
AIX certifications (e.g., IBM Certified AIX System Administrator) or RHEL certifications (e.g., RHCE, LPIC).
Certification in automation tools (e.g., Red Hat Ansible Automation, Chef Certification) is a plus.
ITIL Foundation certification or similar IT service management certification.
Experience with Cloud Platforms:
Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is beneficial.

Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
