Position Overview

BML Munjal University is looking for an experienced and driven Assistant Director – CGDC to lead and strengthen student placement and corporate engagement initiatives for the School of Engineering & Technology.

The role will be responsible for developing strong relationships with recruiters, creating placement opportunities across engineering and technology domains, driving the end-to-end placement process, and ensuring strong career outcomes for SoET students.

The incumbent will work closely with SoET leadership, faculty, students, alumni, and the central CGDC team to understand industry requirements and translate them into meaningful employment and career opportunities for students.

Key Responsibilities

1. Student Placement & Career Outcomes

- Own and drive the end-to-end placement process for SoET students, from recruiter outreach to offer closure and joining.
- Develop and execute placement strategies aligned with the academic programmes, student profiles, and industry demand.
- Build a strong pipeline of companies across Technology, IT/ITES, Product, Engineering, Core Engineering, Consulting, BFSI, Analytics, Semiconductor, Automotive, Manufacturing, Start-ups and emerging technology sectors.
- Track placement performance through metrics such as recruiter participation, offers generated, average/median CTC, highest CTC, placement conversion, and student participation.
- Identify gaps in student employability and work with relevant stakeholders to address them.

2. Corporate Relations & Recruiter Engagement

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with HR leaders, Talent Acquisition Heads, Business Heads, founders, hiring managers and recruitment partners.
- Identify and onboard recent recruiters and expand the University's corporate network.




- Build long-term relationships with strategic employers for recurring and higher-quality hiring.
- Represent BMU/SoET at industry forums, corporate meetings, conferences and networking platforms.
- Understand emerging industry hiring trends and communicate them to relevant academic and career development stakeholders.

3. Placement Strategy for Engineering & Technology

- Develop a sector-wise and company-wise recruiter strategy for SoET.
- Map student skill sets and programme outcomes with current and emerging industry requirements.
- Create differentiated recruiter pipelines for CSE, AI/ML, Data Science, Cybersecurity, ECE and other engineering/technology disciplines, as applicable.
- Identify opportunities for premium recruiters, product companies, global technology organisations and high-growth start-ups.
- Develop strategies to improve the quality of placements, not just placement numbers.

4. Student Career Development

- Work closely with students to understand their career aspirations and placement readiness.
- Coordinate with faculty and CGDC teams for career readiness, industry preparation, internships, assessments, mock interviews, GDs, technical preparation and soft-skill interventions.
- Identify high-potential students and facilitate targeted opportunities for them.
- Provide students with market intelligence regarding roles, skills, compensation and career pathways.
- Support students in preparing for recruitment processes and professional interactions.

5. Internship & Pre-Placement Opportunities

- Strengthen the internship pipeline for SoET students.
- Convert successful internship engagements into pre-placement offers wherever possible.
- Develop relationships with organisations for summer internships, live projects, industrial exposure and experiential learning opportunities.
- Track internship-to-PPO conversion and employer engagement.

6. Placement Operations & Governance

- Ensure smooth execution of the complete placement cycle, including:
- Recruiter outreach
- Job description validation
- Eligibility criteria
- Student nominations
- Assessments
- Interview coordination
- Offer management
- Joining tracking
- Placement documentation
- Maintain accurate placement databases, recruiter records and student placement trackers.




- Prepare regular dashboards and reports for CGDC and SoET leadership.
- Ensure adherence to University placement policies and processes.

7. Stakeholder Management

- Work closely with the Dean, SoET, Programme Heads, faculty members, CGDC leadership, students and senior University leadership.
- Act as the key CGDC interface for SoET on placement and corporate engagement matters.
- Collaborate with other schools and central functions to leverage cross-school recruiter relationships.
- Coordinate with alumni and industry networks to create additional career opportunities.

- Premium/product/core engineering recruiter penetration

Ideal Candidate Profile

- 15+ years of relevant experience in campus recruitment, corporate relations, university placements, talent acquisition, career services or a similar function.
- Strong experience in engineering/technology campus placements, preferably with a leading university, engineering institution, business school, or corporate talent acquisition function.
- Demonstrated relationships with technology, product, IT, engineering and consulting organisations.
- Strong understanding of campus hiring practices and emerging technology-sector talent requirements.
- Proven track record of building recruiter networks and delivering strong placement outcomes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship-management and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong analytical ability with experience using placement data and dashboards to drive decisions.
- Ability to independently manage multiple stakeholders and work in a fast-paced academic environment.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Management, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM or relevant postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.
