We are looking for a technically solid and operationally minded Senior Software Engineer who can establish and manage a structured software development system inspired by Agile, Scrum, and modern engineering practices.
This role is ideal for someone who can bridge the gap between software development, team coordination, project execution, quality assurance, and business operations.
Role Objective
The primary responsibility of this role is to design, implement, and continuously improve Cosysta's internal engineering and delivery system so that development teams can work with clear priorities, measurable progress, proper documentation, quality controls, and predictable delivery.
The candidate will help build a scalable development culture and operational framework that supports multiple projects, teams, clients, and technology stacks.
Key Responsibilities1. Implement the Engineering Management System
- Design and implement an Agile-inspired development framework suitable for Cosysta.
- Establish practical workflows for project planning, task assignment, development, testing, review, deployment, and maintenance.
- Define development stages, task statuses, approval processes, and project delivery checkpoints.
- Implement sprint planning, daily progress tracking, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog management where appropriate.
- Adapt Agile practices to suit different project types, including custom software, ERP, websites, mobile apps, and maintenance projects.
- Create a system that provides management with clear visibility into project status, team workload, risks, and delivery timelines.
2. Build and Manage Development Workflows
- Establish standardized workflows for:
- Requirements gathering
- Technical analysis
- UI/UX handover
- Development
- Code review
- QA and testing
- Client review
- Deployment
- Post-deployment support
- Define the responsibilities and handover points between developers, designers, QA engineers, project coordinators, and management.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and continuously improve development efficiency.
- Ensure tasks are properly documented and traceable from requirement to delivery.
3. Team Coordination & Engineering Operations
- Coordinate with developers, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, DevOps personnel, and project managers.
- Monitor team capacity, task allocation, deadlines, and development progress.
- Help assign work based on technical expertise, workload, and project priorities.
- Conduct or facilitate technical stand-ups, planning meetings, and review sessions.
- Identify delays, blockers, resource gaps, and performance issues, and escalate them appropriately.
- Support onboarding of new developers by establishing coding, documentation, and workflow standards.
- Encourage accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
4. Technical Leadership
- Review system architecture, development approaches, and technical implementation plans.
- Establish coding standards, branching strategies, pull-request practices, and code-review procedures.
- Promote reusable components, modular architecture, API standards, and maintainable code.
- Guide developers in solving complex technical problems.
- Review technical debt and recommend improvements.
- Support technology selection and engineering best practices across projects.
- Ensure development practices align with scalability, security, performance, and maintainability requirements.
5. Project Delivery & Quality Control
- Work with project and business teams to convert requirements into actionable technical tasks.
- Help define realistic development estimates and delivery milestones.
- Establish Definition of Ready and Definition of Done for tasks and features.
- Ensure code reviews, testing, documentation, and acceptance criteria are completed before delivery.
- Monitor recurring defects, rework, missed deadlines, and delivery quality.
- Implement engineering metrics such as:
- Sprint completion rate
- Lead time
- Cycle time
- Defect rate
- Rework percentage
- Deployment frequency
- Blocked-task duration
- On-time delivery rate
- Prepare periodic engineering performance and delivery reports for management.
6. Tools, Automation & Internal Systems
- Evaluate, configure, or help develop internal tools for:
- Project and task management
- Team workload tracking
- Time and effort tracking
- Bug and issue management
- Documentation
- Code review
- CI/CD
- Release management
- Engineering dashboards
- Integrate development tools and business operations systems where required.
- Automate repetitive engineering and reporting processes.
- Help create a centralized source of truth for project status, technical documentation, and delivery information.
- Recommend improvements to Cosysta's internal development platform and operational dashboards.
7. Process Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Create and maintain engineering SOPs, workflow documentation, checklists, and technical guidelines.
- Establish standardized templates for requirements, technical specifications, task descriptions, release notes, and handover documents.
- Conduct periodic process audits to identify gaps and inefficiencies.
- Train team members on adopted development processes and tools.
- Continuously improve the system based on team feedback, project outcomes, and business requirements.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience in software development and engineering practices.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and framework.
- Valuable understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases, Git, and deployment processes.
- Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or similar software delivery methodologies.
- Experience with project management and issue-tracking tools such as Jira, Linear, ClickUp, Azure DevOps, Trello, or equivalent.
- Understanding of Git workflows, pull requests, code reviews, CI/CD, and release management.
- Familiarity with testing methodologies,
QA workflows, and defect tracking.
- Understanding of cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and application deployment.
- Ability to create technical documentation, workflow diagrams, and operational dashboards.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and software project delivery.
Preferred Skills
- Experience implementing an Agile or engineering operations system within a growing software company.
- Experience working with multiple development teams or concurrent projects.
- Experience building internal dashboards, workflow automation, or project management systems.
- Familiarity with DevOps, Docker, cloud infrastructure, and monitoring tools.
- Experience with ERP, SaaS, CRM, or enterprise software development.
- Knowledge of engineering metrics and delivery-performance analysis.
- Experience mentoring developers or serving as a Technical Lead / Engineering Lead.
- Understanding of information security, access control, and software development governance.

- Understand Cosysta's existing development workflow, team structure, tools, and project lifecycle.
- Identify major operational gaps, bottlenecks, and delivery risks.
- Submit a proposed engineering workflow and implementation roadmap.
Days 31–60
- Implement the initial Agile-inspired workflow for selected projects or teams.
- Establish task standards, sprint/release processes, code-review practices, and reporting.
- Configure or develop the required project and engineering dashboards.
- Train team members on the new workflow.
Days 61–90
- Expand the system across relevant development teams.
- Establish measurable engineering KPIs and management reporting.
- Improve delivery predictability, documentation, quality control, and team visibility.
- Submit recommendations for further automation and process improvement.

Important Note
This is not a conventional developer-only position. The selected candidate will be expected to remain technically involved while also taking ownership of engineering process implementation, team coordination, delivery systems, and operational improvement.
The role does not necessarily require managing employees as an HR manager. Its primary focus is technical leadership and engineering operations.
Pay: ₹400,000.00 per year
