Hazargo is looking for a qualified and proactive Environment, Health and Safety professional to implement and monitor EHS systems at its hazardous-waste recycling, pre-processing, TSDF and incineration facility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor daily plant activities to ensure compliance with approved EHS procedures and statutory requirements.
* Conduct routine safety inspections across waste-receiving, storage, pre-processing, recycling, incineration, ETP, laboratory, utility and landfill areas.
* Identify unsafe acts and conditions and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
* Prepare and maintain HIRA, JSA, risk assessments, SOPs, safety checklists and emergency-response procedures.
* Implement and monitor permit-to-work systems for hot work, confined-space entry, work at height, electrical work, excavation and other high-risk activities.
* Ensure employees, contractors and visitors use the required PPE and follow plant-safety rules.
* Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks and training on hazardous-waste handling, chemical safety, fire prevention, spill response and emergency procedures.
* Maintain SDS/MSDS records and ensure chemicals and hazardous waste are correctly labelled, stored and handled.
* Monitor fire-protection systems, gas detectors, emergency showers, eyewash stations, alarms, first-aid facilities and spill-control equipment.
* Plan and conduct fire, chemical-spill, evacuation and emergency-response drills.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, spills and occupational-health concerns.
* Prepare incident reports, identify root causes and track corrective and preventive actions.
* Coordinate environmental monitoring of stack emissions, ambient air, effluent, groundwater, noise and workplace conditions through approved laboratories.
* Monitor compliance with Consent to Establish, Consent to Operate, hazardous-waste authorisations and other applicable approvals.
* Maintain statutory records, inspection reports, training records, waste manifests, compliance trackers and audit documentation.
* Coordinate with CPCB/SPCB, factory, fire and other regulatory authorities as required.
* Support internal audits, customer audits, regulatory inspections and management reviews.
* Monitor contractor safety and ensure compliance with work permits and site requirements.
* Coordinate periodic health examinations and occupational-health monitoring for employees.
* Report critical environmental or safety deviations immediately to the Plant Manager and management.
* Promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the organisation.
Candidate Requirements:
* Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, Fire and Safety Engineering or a related discipline.
* Diploma or postgraduate qualification in Industrial Safety, Environment, Health and Safety or Fire Safety is preferred.
* 3–6 years of EHS experience in hazardous-waste management, TSDF, incineration, recycling, chemical, pharmaceutical or process industries.
* Knowledge of hazardous-waste handling, chemical compatibility, process safety and emergency response.
* Familiarity with CPCB/SPCB requirements, environmental approvals and factory-safety regulations.
* Practical knowledge of HIRA, JSA, permit-to-work, incident investigation, root-cause analysis and CAPA.
* NEBOSH, IOSH, first-aid or fire-safety certification will be an advantage.
* Robust observation, communication, training and documentation skills.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and EHS reporting.
* Willingness to work in plant areas and respond to emergencies outside regular working hours.
Preferred Candidate:
A vigilant and hands-on EHS professional who can independently identify risks, enforce safety standards, maintain compliance documentation and build a responsible safety culture across the facility.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
