We’re Hiring: Senior Technical Architect – Payment Processing & CRM Integration

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Architect / Solution Architect to design and lead the development of a Payment Processing Platform for a US‑based Debt Settlement business. This is a ground‑up build focused on architecting the payment ecosystem and integration layer with an existing Debt Settlement CRM.

The role demands hands‑on architecture leadership in payment systems, ACH/NACHA workflows, and enterprise integrations, ensuring secure, reliable, and real‑time financial transaction processing.

Key Responsibilities1. Architecture & Design

- Define end‑to‑end architecture of the Payment Processing Platform.
- Establish integration boundaries between CRM and Payment Platform.
- Design for scalability, reliability, security, and transaction integrity.

2. CRM ↔ Payment Platform Integration

- Architect APIs, webhooks, and event flows for:
- Customer onboarding, account linking, payment scheduling/modification.
- ACH debit/credit initiation, settlement updates, refunds, reversals.
- Real‑time transaction status, reconciliation, and ledger updates.
- Define contracts, authentication, retry/idempotency rules, and error handling.

3. Payment Lifecycle & ACH/NACHA

- Architect full payment lifecycle across CRM, banks, ACH processors, and settlement flows.
- Design ACH submission, returns, reversals, and reconciliation workflows.
- Ensure compliance with NACHA formats, codes,



and auditability.

4. Ledger & Financial Architecture

- Design double‑entry ledger systems for accounts, balances, credits/debits, fees, settlements, and reconciliations.
- Architect sub‑account/wallet structures with transaction history, restrictions, and reconciliation.

5. Banking & Processor Integrations

- Build flexible frameworks to integrate with banks, ACH processors, payment gateways, KYC/identity providers, and financial APIs.
- Ensure extensibility for future providers without core redesign.

6. Reliability, Security & Compliance

- Implement idempotent transaction handling, duplicate prevention, retry/recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Design robust security controls: OAuth/JWT, RBAC, encryption, tokenization, audit trails.
- Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, SOC 2, GLBA, and US financial regulations.

7. Technical Leadership

- Own architecture from inception to production.
- Collaborate with CRM team, BAs, and developers to define integration contracts.
- Conduct design/code reviews, enforce standards, and resolve complex technical issues.

8. Cloud & DevOps

- Guide infrastructure setup across AWS/Azure/GCP.
- Define CI/CD pipelines, containerization, monitoring, logging, backup,



and HA/DR strategies.

Required Skills & Experience

- 10-15+ years in software engineering; 5+ years in architecture leadership.
- Proven experience building FinTech/payment platforms.
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Node.js / Python / TypeScript (Next.js/Nest.js desirable).
- Deep knowledge of ACH/NACHA, banking APIs, payment gateways, reconciliation, ledgers.
- Solid REST API, event‑driven architecture, and webhook experience.
- Expertise with MySQL/PostgreSQL, message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ/SQS), caching (Redis).
- Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, CI/CD, distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of API security, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
