Role Overview

This is a business development role for someone who has done it before in the medical device or wider MedTech space. You would own the top of our pipeline, identifying the manufacturers, startups, CROs and investors who need regulatory support, getting in front of the right person, and turning that first conversation into a scoped engagement.

Tacticity is a small practice, so this is not a role where leads are handed to you. You would decide who is worth approaching and why, build the outreach yourself, and carry the relationship through to the point where the technical team takes over. What you get in return is ownership: the pipeline is yours to design, and the results are visible immediately.

You would work closely with the founder, who spent his career reviewing these submissions at FDA. Expect your reasoning about a target account to be questioned, and expect to question back.

What You Would Be Doing

- Build and own the outbound pipeline, identify medical device, IVD and SaMD companies who need regulatory support, and work out who inside them actually makes the decision.
- Run outreach end to end: research the account, write the email, follow up, and get the meeting. The writing is yours, not a template someone else wrote.
- Hold first conversations with founders, regulatory heads and quality leads, understand where they are stuck, and judge whether we are the right fit before promising anything.
- Scope opportunities with the founder and technical team, and contribute to proposals and commercial discussions.
- Use AI tools seriously in the day-to-day, account research, list building, drafting, personalisation and follow-up, and keep improving how you use them.
- Track the pipeline properly:

who was contacted, what was said, what is due next, and what is actually converting.
- Represent the practice at industry events, on LinkedIn and in written communication, in a way that reflects the technical seriousness of the work.

What We Are Looking For

- Prior business development experience in medical devices, IVDs, SaMD or an adjacent MedTech or life sciences services business. This is not an entry-level role and not a general B2B sales role.
- A track record you can talk through in detail, accounts you opened yourself, how you found them, what you wrote, and what closed. We will ask.
- A working understanding of how the MedTech industry operates: who the buyers are, what a regulatory submission means to a company commercially, and why timelines and approvals matter to them.
- Business acumen, the judgement to tell a serious opportunity from a time sink, and to price and scope a conversation sensibly.
- Strong problem-solving ability. When an approach stops working, you would be expected to diagnose it and change it, not repeat it louder.
- Genuine fluency with AI tools, and the judgement to know when their output is good enough to send and when it is not. We will ask how you actually use them.
- Ownership. This is a remote role with very little supervision,

so we need someone who sets their own targets and reports honestly against them.
- Writing a busy stranger will actually read, clear, specific and short. A badly written outreach email is a wasted account.
- The judgement to say when something is outside your knowledge rather than guessing. A confident wrong answer to a technical question costs us credibility.

Useful, But Not Essential

A technical or life sciences background; existing relationships in the medical device industry; experience selling regulatory, quality or testing services; or exposure to the US and EU markets alongside India.

What This Role Is Not

Worth being straightforward, because the fit matters more than the CV. This is not a role where marketing hands you qualified leads. It is not a role with a script. And it is not a technical role — you would need to understand regulatory work well enough to have a credible conversation, but the submissions themselves sit with the technical team.

Location

This is a work-from-home role. The first three months are a probation period, and on successful completion the position becomes full time.

You would be expected to be available for calls during standard working hours and to travel occasionally for client meetings or industry events.

Shortlisted candidates will be given a short written assignment. Communication and email drafting are central to this role, so both the application email and the assignment form part of the assessment. We would rather read three thoughtful paragraphs than a polished cover letter that could have been sent to anyone.

Pay: From ₹11,593.48 per month

Work Location: Remote
