Management Accountant – UK Real Estate

Location: Chennai – Guindy
Work Arrangement: Initial 2 Months Work from Home , then Office-Based
CTC: ₹10,50,000 – ₹14,50,000 per annum, based on experience ( including all the cost )
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience
Qualification: Minimum Part-Qualified CA / ACCA
Working Hours: UK Shift ( 1:30pm to 10: 30 pm / 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm - yearly 2 shifts based on day light saving time as per UK )
Working Days: Monday to Friday + up to 2 Saturdays per month

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Management Accountant based in Chennai to support the finance function of a UK-based real estate, property development and investment business.

This is an ownership-focused role covering management accounting, development project financial tracking, cash flow forecasting, financial analysis, reconciliations, payment and intercompany schedules, annual accounts/VAT support and refinancing activities.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Associate, UK management, clients and other stakeholders. Therefore, excellent spoken and written English communication skills are essential for this position.

The Management Accountant will also be responsible for reviewing financial information prepared at bookkeeping level before it is presented to the Finance Associate.

Key ResponsibilitiesManagement Accounting & Project Finance

- Take ownership of development project and CSA finance trackers.
- Review project expenditure, commitments, funding and financial movements for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor project financial performance and identify significant movements, discrepancies or potential issues.
- Support month-end reporting, reconciliations and management accounting activities.
- Review financial information prepared by bookkeeping/finance support before submission for management review.

Cash Flow & Financial Forecasting

- Prepare and maintain bi-weekly cash flow forecasts.
- Coordinate expected receipts, payments, property costs, development expenditure and financing movements.
- Review forecast versus actual cash movements and investigate significant variances.
- Identify upcoming cash requirements and potential cash flow pressures.
- Provide clear and timely financial updates to the Finance Associate and management.

Annual Accounts & VAT Support

- Support the finance team with annual accounts and UK VAT returns when required.
- Prepare and review supporting schedules, reconciliations and financial information.
- Assist with resolving accounting queries and identifying missing or inconsistent information.
- Provide finance support during reporting deadlines and periods of increased workload.

Payments & Intercompany Transactions

- Prepare accurate payment schedules and intercompany transfer schedules.




- Review supporting information before schedules are submitted for approval.
- Assist with reconciliations across multiple companies/entities.

Refinancing & Funding Support

- Assist with financial information required for property refinancing, lending and funding activities.
- Prepare financial schedules, reconciliations and supporting reports.
- Coordinate finance-related documentation requested by lenders, brokers, accountants and other stakeholders.
- Respond to financial information requests in coordination with the Finance Associate.

UK Client & Stakeholder Communication

- Communicate professionally with UK-based clients, management, finance teams and external stakeholders.
- Participate confidently in calls, finance discussions and online meetings.
- Clearly explain financial information, variances, outstanding matters and accounting queries.
- Follow up independently with relevant stakeholders to obtain required financial information and documentation.
- Maintain a high standard of professional written communication and email correspondence.

Candidate RequirementsEssential

- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Minimum Part-Qualified CA or ACCA.
- Strong practical understanding of management accounting.
- Hands-on experience with cash flow forecasting, P&L;, balance sheet reconciliations and financial schedules.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Confidence in communicating directly with UK/international clients and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to explain financial matters clearly and professionally.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership and meet deadlines.
- Proactive approach to following up outstanding information and resolving financial queries.
- Willingness to work UK shift timings.

Preferred

- Previous experience working with a UK-based business, client or accounting practice.
- Experience within real estate, property development or construction.
- Knowledge of UK VAT and statutory accounts.
- Experience using Xero or similar accounting software.
- Experience handling accounts for multiple companies/entities within a group structure.

Work Location & Working Pattern

The position will initially be Work from Home for approximately 2 months while our Chennai office setup is in progress.

Once the office becomes operational, the role will transition to office-based working in the Guindy, Chennai area.

Candidates should therefore be currently based in Chennai or within a practical commuting distance of Guindy and must be willing to work from the office once it opens.

Working Pattern:

- Monday to Friday
- UK shift timings
- Up to 2 Saturdays per month may be required, depending on workload and business requirements

Final compensation will be based on the candidate's relevant experience, qualification, technical accounting knowledge, UK/international exposure and communication skills.

Important

This is a UK-facing finance role involving regular communication with UK-based stakeholders. Candidates must possess excellent English communication skills and the confidence to handle qualified calls, meetings and finance-related discussions independently.

Candidates seeking permanent work-from-home opportunities should note that this position will transition to office-based working in Guindy, Chennai once the office setup is completed.

Pay: ₹85,000.00 - ₹110,000.00 per month
