JOB DESCRIPTION – ACCOUNTANTDepartment: Accounts & Finance

Position: Accountant

Reporting To: General Manager / Management

Location: Bengaluru

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job SummaryThe Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate books of accounts, handling day-to-day accounting transactions, GST and TDS compliance, bank reconciliation, vendor/customer accounts, payment follow-ups, statutory documentation, and supporting management with financial reports.

- Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & BookkeepingMaintain day-to-day accounts in Tally / ERP.
- Record purchase, sales, receipt, payment, journal and contra entries.
- Verify purchase invoices, expense bills and supporting documents.
- Maintain proper ledger accounts and cost/expense classifications.
- Ensure accounting entries are updated on a daily basis.
- 2. Accounts PayableVerify supplier invoices against PO and supporting documents.
- Maintain vendor outstanding and ageing reports.
- Prepare supplier payment schedules based on agreed credit terms.
- Reconcile vendor ledgers and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate with SCM/Purchase for pending invoices, debit notes and credit notes.
- 3. Accounts ReceivablePrepare and maintain customer outstanding statements.
- Follow up with customers for outstanding payments.
- Maintain receivable ageing reports.
- Account for customer receipts and adjust invoices correctly.
- Coordinate with Sales/Projects for overdue payments and payment documentation.
- 4. GST & TDSMaintain GST-related accounting records.
- Reconcile GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-2B with books.
- Verify Input Tax Credit (ITC) eligibility and discrepancies.
- Prepare data for GST return filing.
- Calculate applicable TDS and maintain TDS records.
- Support timely filing of TDS returns and issuance/reconciliation of certificates.
- Coordinate with CA/consultants for statutory compliance.




- 5. BankingPerform daily/periodic bank reconciliation.
- Maintain records of bank payments and receipts.
- Prepare documents for NEFT/RTGS and other banking transactions.
- Monitor cheque/PDC transactions where applicable.
- Maintain records relating to BGs, LCs, OD/CC accounts and bank charges.
- Coordinate with banks for routine accounting and transaction-related matters.
- 6. Import & Export AccountingMaintain records of import and export transactions.
- Coordinate accounting records for foreign currency payments and receipts.
- Maintain documentation relating to BOE, shipping bills and overseas remittances.
- Support reconciliation of import/export transactions with bank records.
- Coordinate with bank/CA/logistics teams for required financial documentation.
- 7. Payroll & Employee AccountsPrepare monthly salary workings based on attendance and approved leave records.
- Maintain salary, advance and reimbursement records.
- Support PF, ESI, Professional Tax and other applicable payroll compliances.
- Maintain employee-related accounting records.

8. MIS & Management ReportingPrepare periodic reports including:

- Customer Outstanding Report
- Vendor Outstanding Report
- Receivable/Payable Ageing
- Daily/Weekly Cash Flow Position
- Bank Balance Report
- Monthly Sales & Purchase Summary
- GST/TDS Status
- Expense Summary
- Project-wise receivable/payment status

Immediately highlight significant overdue receivables,



upcoming statutory payments and major cash-flow requirements to management.

- 9. Audit & Statutory ComplianceMaintain proper supporting documents for all accounting transactions.
- Assist CA/auditors during statutory and tax audits.
- Provide ledgers, vouchers, invoices and reconciliations requested during audits.
- Maintain proper filing of accounting and statutory documents.
- Ensure financial records are maintained confidentially.
- Required SkillsGood knowledge of Tally Prime / accounting ERP
- Solid knowledge of GST, TDS and basic Income Tax provisions
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel
- Knowledge of bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation
- Understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Basic understanding of import/export accounting preferred
- Good communication and payment follow-up skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Qualification & ExperienceQualification: B.Com / M.Com or equivalent finance/accounting qualification

Experience: 2–5 years preferred, particularly in a manufacturing, engineering, trading or MSME environment.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Performance will be evaluated based on:

- Timely and accurate accounting entries
- Zero/minimum errors in GST and TDS records
- Timely bank and ledger reconciliations
- Accuracy of customer/vendor outstanding reports
- Effective follow-up of overdue receivables
- Timely statutory compliance
- Accuracy of monthly MIS reports
- Proper documentation and audit readiness
- Timely closing of monthly accounts

Objective of the Role:

To maintain accurate and compliant financial records, ensure timely collection and payment monitoring, provide clear financial information to management, and support effective cash-flow and financial control of the organization.
