Prepare and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis and, where applicable, 4-axis or 5-axis VMC machines.

Create programs using G-code/M-code and CAM software.

Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T; symbols, specifications, and 3D models.

Plan machining sequences, work-holding arrangements, tooling, and cutting parameters.

Set up machines, fixtures, cutting tools, tool offsets, and work coordinates.

Conduct program simulations and prove-out trials before production.

Manufacture first-off components and verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments.

Optimize cycle times while maintaining tool life, accuracy, and surface finish.

Diagnose and correct programming, tooling, dimensional, and machine-related problems.





Monitor production and make offset or parameter adjustments when required.

Perform in-process inspections using vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and other instruments.

Maintain program revision records, setup sheets, tooling lists, and production documentation.

Coordinate with production, design, quality, and maintenance teams.

Support operators and provide instructions for repeat-production jobs.

Follow safety procedures and maintain valuable housekeeping practices.

Assist with routine and preventive maintenance of VMC machines.
