Role OverviewMaywood Interiors is looking for an experienced

Design & Sales Consultant who can combine interior design knowledge with strong customer-facing and sales capabilities.

The candidate will be responsible for handling customers from the initial consultation at the Maywood Experience Centre, understanding their requirements, developing appropriate design solutions, preparing and presenting quotations, and ultimately converting the opportunity into a confirmed project.

The ideal candidate should be equally comfortable discussing layouts, materials and designs with a customer and discussing budgets, quotations and closing the sale.

- Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Consultation & SalesAttend to customers visiting the Maywood Experience Centre and leads assigned by the Company.
- Understand the customer's requirements, lifestyle, design preferences, budget and project timelines.
- Explain Maywood's products, materials, design options, manufacturing capabilities and execution process.
- Recommend appropriate solutions across Maywood's Premium, Premium+ and Luxury ranges.
- Build a solid relationship with the customer and maintain regular follow-up throughout the sales process.
- Take ownership of converting assigned leads into confirmed projects.
- Conduct professional presentations of designs, materials and quotations to customers.
- Handle customer objections, commercial discussions and negotiations within Maywood's approved pricing framework.
- Drive customers towards timely decision-making and project booking.
- Interior DesignUnderstand customer requirements and translate them into functional and aesthetically appropriate interior designs.
- Develop space planning and initial 2D layouts based on site dimensions and customer requirements.
- Develop or coordinate the preparation of 3D interior designs and presentations.
- Design kitchens, wardrobes, TV units, crockery units, pooja units, study units and other residential interior elements.
- Recommend suitable finishes, laminates, colours, hardware,



accessories and materials.
- Ensure that proposed designs are practical and suitable for Maywood's manufacturing and execution processes.
- Incorporate customer feedback and complete design revisions within the required timelines.
- Coordinate with Maywood's Design Manager and technical teams for validation wherever required.
- Quotation & Commercial CoordinationPrepare accurate project requirements for quotation and BOQ preparation.
- Ensure that all required interior elements, materials, accessories and specifications are captured correctly.
- Present quotations clearly to customers and explain the scope of work.
- Follow up on quotations until the project is closed.
- Work within Maywood's approved product library, rate cards and discount policies.
- Ensure that no unauthorized pricing, discounts or commitments are made to customers.

Project HandoverOnce a customer confirms the project:

- Ensure that all customer requirements and commitments are properly documented.
- Complete the required design and sales documentation.
- Coordinate the handover to the Design, Project Management, Production and Operations teams.
- Ensure that the internal team clearly understands the approved design, materials, scope and customer expectations.
- Continue to support customer communication where required during the transition from sales to project execution.

Performance Expectations

This is a sales-oriented design position. The candidate will therefore be evaluated not only on design quality but also on the ability to convert customers into confirmed projects.

Required Skills & ExperienceThe candidate should ideally have:

- 2–3+ years of experience in residential interior design, modular interiors or interior sales.
- Previous experience working directly with homeowners.
- Strong knowledge of modular kitchens, wardrobes and residential interior products.
- Good understanding of materials including laminates, acrylic, veneer, glass, hardware and accessories.
- Ability to understand floor plans, dimensions and space planning.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SketchUp; experience with relevant 3D rendering/design software is preferred.
- Ability to prepare and professionally present design concepts to customers.
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Commercial understanding and the ability to discuss budgets and quotations confidently.
- Strong follow-up and negotiation skills.
- Ability to independently take a customer from enquiry to project closure.

Candidate Profile

We are specifically looking for someone who is not purely a designer and not purely a salesperson.

The ideal candidate should be able to sit with a customer, understand their home and requirements, suggest appropriate designs and materials, create confidence in Maywood's solution, discuss the commercial proposal and ultimately close the project.

Experience with established modular/interior brands, interior design studios or companies handling complete home interiors will be an advantage.
