- Run pre-set programs and monitor the machining cycle
- Check dimensions using measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, height gauge etc.)
- Perform basic in-process quality checks and report deviations
- Maintain machine cleanliness and basic upkeep
- Follow safety procedures on the shop floor
- Set up job/fixture and align workpiece on the machine table
- Set tool offsets, work coordinates (G54 etc.), and edit/adjust CNC programs as needed
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds
- Troubleshoot minor program/tooling issues during production
- Guide and support operators on the machine
- Conduct first-piece inspection and approve for production run
