We are seeking an experienced E-commerce Apparel Merchandiser who thrives in a fast-paced digital retail workplace. In this role, you will own the end-to-end product lifecycle—from sampling and vendor management to production planning and online inventory control. You will act as the linchpin between our manufacturing partners and our internal e-commerce team to ensure the right products are in stock, on time, and meeting our strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor Management & Sourcing
- Identify, onboard, and build strong relationships with fabric suppliers, garment manufacturers, and job-workers.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and minimum order quantities (MOQs) to ensure healthy profit margins without compromising quality.
- Monitor vendor performance and resolve any supply chain bottlenecks.
Sampling & Quality Assurance (QA)
- Manage the entire sampling process (proto, fit, size set, and pre-production samples) in collaboration with the design and technical teams.
- Conduct rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) checks during inline and final production stages to ensure garments meet technical specs, fit, and aesthetic standards.
- Approve strike-offs, lab dips, and bulk fabric quality.
Production Planning & Tracking
- Create and manage the Time & Action (T&A;) calendar for all collections to ensure timely product drops on the website.
- Track daily/weekly production progress at factories and proactively solve delays to meet strict e-commerce launch deadlines.
Inventory Control & Sales Analysis
- Monitor daily e-commerce sales velocity to manage inventory levels, avoiding both stockouts and overstock situations.
- Plan Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets and generate replenishment/reorder requests for top-performing styles based on data.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team for seamless inwarding of inward shipments and barcoding/SKU management.
E-commerce & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with the styling and cataloging teams to ensure products are accurately represented in photoshoots (highlighting the right fabrics and fits).
- Provide product knowledge, USPs, and fabric details to the marketing and content teams for accurate website descriptions.
- Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of merchandising experience, specifically within the women's apparel and e-commerce sector.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Production, Garment Manufacturing, or a related field (NIFT/Pearl Academy alumni preferred).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of garment construction, woven and knit fabrics, sizing, and the end-to-end apparel production cycle.
- Analytical Skills: Must be comfortable making decisions based on sales data.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation skills, extreme attention to detail, and the ability to hustle and troubleshoot in a high-pressure e-commerce environment.
