Job Summary

BCI is seeking a skilled contract Python Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and data pipelines. Please note: This will be a 6-12 month contract.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python, integrating data from multiple sources, and developing reliable, high-performance backend services that support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives. This role requires expertise in Python, cloud technologies, databases, API development, and modern data engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Develop backend services and APIs using Python-based frameworks.
- Integrate data from databases, third-party APIs, cloud storage, and enterprise applications.
- Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot failures,



and implement solutions to improve reliability.
- Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and automated testing processes.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Optimize database queries and data models for efficient processing and retrieval.
- Deploy and maintain applications and pipelines in cloud environments.
- Create technical documentation, maintain coding standards, and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years + of experience in Python backend development.
- Robust proficiency in hands on development with Python and object-oriented programming.
