Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Data Analyst to join our HR Analytics Team. The Senior Data Analyst will serve as a key subject matter expert in translating complex workforce data into actionable business insights.
An ideal candidate will possess expertise in ‘Workday’ report Writing, paired with Advanced Excel data modelling capabilities. The candidate will build complex custom ‘Workday’ reports, ‘Workday’ dashboards, and Discovery boards, perform in-depth data analysis, and deliver reporting and dashboards to guide decision making across headcount, talent acquisition, retention, compensation and other employee metrics.
Highly analytical and detail-oriented to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence dashboards that provide actionable insights to stakeholders. An ideal candidate will have experience transforming complex datasets into meaningful visualizations and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Functional & Technical Support
- Analyze report requirements and translate them into scalable ‘Workday’ solutions
- Provide recommendations aligned with ‘Workday’ Reporting best practices and governance standards
- Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence dashboards and Discovery Boards that provide actionable insights to stakeholders using ‘Workday’ reports
‘Workday’ Reporting:
- Develop Custom Reports: Design, build, and test Advanced, Matrix, Dashboard, Composite and Trending custom reports
- Advance Logic Building: Create complex,
nested Calculated Fields to parse intricate data requests
- Design Visual Dashboards: Build interactive ‘Workday’ Discovery Boards, worksheets, and executive dashboards
- Partner with Stakeholders: Gather reporting requirements from HR, Payroll, and Finance teams to translate needs into technical builds
- Optimize Performance: Rewrite inefficient reports to minimize run-time and improve processing performance
Dashboard and Analytics:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Gather report output from ‘Workday’ and input from business stakeholders and translate them into effective analytical solutions for the HR functions
- Create and manage KPIs, scorecards, and executive-level dashboards using ‘Workday’ reports
- Analyze large datasets from ‘Workday’ and provide actionable insights to improve business performance
- Monitor data quality, accuracy, and consistency across ‘Workday’ reporting systems
Ad-hoc Analysis:
- Perform ad-hoc workforce analysis on key People metrics such as turnover, retention, headcount planning, compensation equity, and performance management
Governance & Operational Support
- Follow established governance and change management processes
- Ensure proper documentation and audit compliance
- Ensure the report schedules on ‘Workday’,
and for Analytics are delivered to the respective stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/masters degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years of hands-on ‘Workday’ Reporting writing and HR data Analysis experience
- Experience with ‘Workday’ Reporting - in Advanced, Simple, Composite, Matrix, nBox, Search, Transposed and Trending
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- The ideal candidate will have experience transforming complex datasets into meaningful visualizations and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization
Skills and Competencies
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
- High ownership and accountability for deliverables
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Excel, power point and ‘Workday’ reporting tools
- Power BI, Tableau, Advanced Excel – power queries, macros, formulae, charts and presentations
