About The Job:

- We are seeking an elite, technically rigorous Senior Workday Technical Engineer with deep subject matter expertise in Workday Studio and Workday Extend. In this role, you will architect, build, and optimize enterprise-grade integration landscapes and custom cloud applications across the entire Workday HCM suite (Core HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Advanced Compensation, Talent, Recruiting, and Time Tracking).

- You will bridge the gap between complex middleware data orchestration and native application development on the Workday Cloud Platform, replacing brittle legacy patterns with scalable, secure, and performant solutions.

Essential Job Functions:

Workday Studio &

• Advanced Integrations

- Architect Complex Pipelines: Design and deliver advanced, high-volume inbound and outbound integrations using Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, and Cloud Connect.
- Data Transformations &

• Expression: Write and maintain advanced XSLT (2.0/3.0), XPath, and MVEL expressions to handle rigorous structural data mapping, validation, and multi-file message splitting/aggregating.

- API &

• Web Services Mastery: Leverage Workday Web Services (WWS), public REST APIs, and SOAP endpoints for real-time or batch transactional syncing across disparate third-party ecosystem tools (e.g., global payroll aggregators, benefits providers, Active Directory).

- Resilient Error Handling: Implement robust integration error-handling paradigms via Catch blocks, custom message logging (Put Integration Message component), and automated notification frameworks to ensure touchless data processing.

Workday Extend &

• Native Application Development

- Custom App Architecture: Design, code, and deploy secure custom applications, dashboards, and operational features using Workday Extend (App Builder, UI components).
- UI & Component Scripting: Build dynamic,



responsive user interface layouts using Page Markup Language (PMD) that adhere to native Workday user-experience standards across mobile and desktop.
- Workday Orchestrate: Develop multi-step business logic and event-driven workflows utilizing Workday Orchestrations (O4I) to link external data actions seamlessly with core HCM events without external server dependencies.
- Custom Business Objects (CBOs): Model, build, and maintain CBOs and relationships tied to core HCM business objects (Workers, Positions, Organizations, Cost Centers) to retain transactional state inside the tenant.

HCM Functional & Security Alignment
- Cross-Module Technical Coverage: Deeply understand data models across Core HCM, Talent & Performance, Recruiting, Benefits, Time Tracking, and Payroll to ensure technical designs account for strict validation rules and life-cycle triggers.
- Configurable Security Governance: Design and maintain ironclad Workday Security Frameworks, including domain security policies, business process security policies, constrained/unconstrained security groups, and custom functional role assignments.
- Advanced Reporting: Construct complex Custom Reports, Calculated Fields (evaluating conditional logic, lookups, and related business objects), and Prism Analytics tables to feed downstream integration components and extend UIs.

Qualifications:

- Experience: 7+ years of total IT experience, with a minimum of 4+ years of dedicated, hands-on technical development specifically focused on Workday Studio and advanced data mapping.
- Workday Extend Experience: Minimum 2+ years building, debugging,



and maintaining production-grade Workday Extend applications, orchestrations, and PMD components.
- Technical Stack Proficiency: Expert command of XML, XSLT, JSON, REST/SOAP web services, Java/MVEL, and relational data/ETL concepts.
- Workday Tooling: Solid experience utilizing Workday Studio Debugger, EIB configuration, RaaS (Report-as-a-Service), and Calculated Fields.
- Certifications: Active Workday Integration Professional certification and/or Workday Studio / Advanced Integrations certification preferred.
