– Yarn Planning, Purchase & Quality Checking
Department : PPC
Reporting to : PPC Head

Designation : Manager
Key Responsibilities
1. Yarn Planning & Requirement Forecasting
- Assess daily/weekly/monthly yarn requirements based on production schedules.
- Coordinate with the operations team to understand yarn counts, no of cones, blends, and consumption patterns.
- Forecast demand to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Selection of yarn based on the technical parameters and loom efficiency.
2. Yarn Purchasing
- Raise purchase requirements and coordinate with approved suppliers.
- Ensure timely delivery of yarn as per required quality, count, and blend specifications.
- Maintain strong vendor communication for order follow-up, delivery planning, and resolving discrepancies.
- Arranging and maintain all traceability related documents.
3. Inventory Management & Stock Control
- Monitor stock levels to maintain optimum inventory—ensure no stagnation and no stock-outs.
- Implement FIFO and conduct regular stock audits to eliminate aging inventory.
- Maintain accurate inward/outward tracking of all yarn lots in ERP.
- Order-to-order reconciliation, monitoring excess consumption, tracking wastage, and managing costing.
4. Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain detailed purchase, stock, and consumption reports in Excel and ERP.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly MIS on consumption, closing stock, order status, and age analysis.
- Analyse data to identify slow-moving and fast-moving yarns.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination · Work with the marketing team to understand and achieve customer required deliveries.
- Coordinate with production/operations teams for smooth alignment of yarn availability with production planning.
- Support costing and product development teams with yarn-related technical inputs.
6. Yarn Quality Checking
- Ensure quality verification of every yarn lot before issuance to production.
- Conduct or coordinate all required yarn quality tests such as:
§ Count checking § Strength/CSP
§ Elongation
§ U% / Hairiness / Imperfections
§ Moisture regain /Moisture % / Moisture check
§ Any other technical tests as per process requirements
- Ensure the yarn lot meets technical parameters and quality standards by visiting the loom shed and verifying loom performance and efficiency.
- Reject or hold non-conforming yarn and coordinate with suppliers for replacement/credit notes.
- Maintain proper documentation of test reports and approvals.
- Work closely with the QC/QA team to ensure consistent yarn performance in production.
7. Team Management
- Lead, guide, and supervise the yarn planning, purchase, and quality teams.
- Allocate responsibilities and ensure timely execution of tasks across team members.
- Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback, training, and skill development.
- Ensure discipline, accountability, and adherence to process standards within the team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team efficiency and productivity.
- Act as a point of escalation for operational challenges and resolve issues effectively.
Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of yarn counts, blends, and textile raw materials.
- Experience in yarn quality checks and understanding technical parameters.
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, MIS preparation).
- Effective inventory management and planning skills.
- Vendor negotiation and communication abilities.
- High attention to detail and strong follow-up skills.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Textile Technology / MBA or relevant field.
- 8–14 years’ experience in yarn planning, purchasing, quality checking, or textile supply chain preferred.
Pay: ₹43,156.96 - ₹75,613.44 per month
