Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Maintenance
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of textile machinery.
- Attend machine breakdowns and carry out repairs promptly to restore production.
- Replace worn-out mechanical parts such as bearings, gears, shafts, couplings, chains, belts, and pulleys.
- Ensure proper alignment, fitting, and assembly of machine components.
Installation & Improvement
- Assist in installation, commissioning, and shifting of machinery.
- Support machine modification and continuous improvement activities.
- Participate in shutdown maintenance activities.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow safety procedures during maintenance work.
- Use appropriate PPE and maintain safe working conditions.
- Ensure cleanliness of maintenance tools and work areas.
- Follow 5S practices and company safety standards.
Documentation
- Record breakdown details and maintenance activities.
- Maintain spare consumption records.
- Report recurring issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- ITI (Fitter) / NCVT / SCVT certification.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3 to 8 years of experience as a Fitter in a textile manufacturing industry.
- Experience in spinning, sizing, weaving, or processing units preferred.
Skills Required
- Mechanical fitting and assembly.
- Bearing and gear replacement.
- Welding and fabrication support knowledge.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance.
- Reading mechanical drawings.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in shifts.
