Role & responsibilities

- Provide discipline expertise in structural engineering for offshore drilling rigs
- Understand customer requirements and collaborate with engineering teams
- Estimate timelines, deliver projects on schedule, and adhere to standards
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, clients, and vendors
- Present design changes, participate in reviews, and support technical discussions
- Prepare deliverables list with manhour estimates
- Train and mentor junior engineers; guide drafters on drawings

Primary Skills

- Solid structural engineering skills in marine/offshore structures
- Experience in basic & detailed engineering, material takeoff, technical specs
- Repair/New Build/Conversion of ships, rigs, offshore structures
- Knowledge of international codes (ABS, DNV, MODU)
- Proficiency in ANSYS, SACS, AutoCAD, Mathcad




- Ability to handle analysis and drawings independently
- Structural analysis & feasibility checks for modifications
- Review fabrication drawings, perform deck load calculations, foundation analyses
- Design/qualification of beam clamps, pad eyes, stair towers, flare booms, supports
- Scantling & buckling analysis, lift analysis, rigging specifications
- Accommodation expansion, temporary living quarters additions
- Prepare technical specifications for structural/outfitting materials
- Weld specification and procedure review, material substitution review
