Description

- Ensure Exterior Lighting and vision component / system project, being consistent with quality, performance, time, and costs objectives and being supported by specialized areas.

- Ensure Cross functional team co-ordination on development and practices in a specific cooperative project with other regions.

- Ensure Vision and Lighting components from Design release to Launch with Design assurance plan (DAP) enabled.

- Homologation compliance for all the Vision components

- Create DFMEA, DAP, EDP, KBE for Vision components.

- Responsible for the Engineering, Design, Development, Timing and Product release of Exterior Lighting and vision components

- Other responsibilities will include managing supplier (internal/external) development activities, weight and cost reduction opportunities, development, and validation of assigned components.

Task / Deliverables In the specific area of application can be responsible for:

- To manage technical content for Lighting and Vision, defining priorities to ensure that all program deliverables are met.

- Guide the technical solution definition based on vehicle targets.

- To coordinate the development of solutions as identified in concept phase up to industrialization, consistently with standardization plans and complexity management
- To ensure the design guidelines and rules application, confirming the robustness / correctness of the developed solutions (if applicable)

- For buy components, to support the supplier selection and work with the supplier team to make sure development will support all project milestones





- Manage cad step release activities according to program milestones and to ensure the accuracy / completeness of technical documentation released (if applicable).

- To ensure the quality / adequacy of the technical documentation (DVPR, FMEA, DFM, change management, source packaging etc.) about subsystems and components design in development and serial life process
- To support quality issues resolution and keep up to date all Design Practices and Performance Standards through the Lessons Learned (with other regional DRs and global team)

- Support benchmarking activities working with Global Technical Team, including competitive analysis.

- To implement DFSS methods / projects to each specific discipline.

- To lead weight reduction strategies related to each specific discipline (if applicable).

- To lead Value Optimization strategies related to each specific discipline.

- To lead the execution of component standardization and re-use strategies.

- To mentor and coach engineering team including and make sure that his team has the right skills
- To manage the Individual evaluations of all the team members performing annual interviews and talent review;ply base

2. QUALIFICATIONS, eXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Qualifications/Skills and Experience:

- Education: B.E. / B. Tech. / M. E / M. Tech Mechanical / Automobile engineering.

Experience:

- 8 to 10 years of core experience in Lighting and Vision components Design and Development

Essential Skills

- Strong experience in Lighting and Vision System and components

- Vision components like IRVM, Glass, Cowl screen components

- Lighting Components like Forward Lighting, Rear lighting and Signal Lighting

- Strong hands-on experience in connector design / Pinouts / PCB / LED / Wiring harness selection criteria

- Strong hands-on experience in defining validation plan for EE components

- Effective interactions with Co-design supplier to ensure Vehicle Functional Objectives are achieved.

- Effective interaction with cross functional teams on issue resolutions.

- Good leadership with team building skills.

- Strong knowledge on Technical review, PPAP, Part testing, FMEA, Design kick-off and Design approval.

- Exterior lamps, Glass, Plastics product, IRVM Product design

- Tooling knowledge of Vision components

- Ability to develop Lighting and Vision components from TKO to Launch and address post launch issues.

- OEM experience is added advantage.

- Homologation compliance is added advantage.

- Vision product problem solving experience
