Role & responsibilities:

- Prepare the operation theatre before scheduled procedures, including instruments, equipment, consumables, and sterile supplies.
- Assist the surgical and nursing team during operative procedures.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection-control, aseptic, and sterilization protocols.
- Check the availability and functionality of OT equipment, including surgical and anesthesia equipment.
- Prepare and arrange surgical instruments and instrument sets according to the procedure.
- Assist with patient positioning and transfer as directed by the clinical team.
- Handle surgical specimens according to hospital protocols and ensure proper labeling and transfer.
- Perform surgical counts of instruments, swabs, needles, and other items in coordination with the nursing team.
- Clean, disinfect, and prepare the OT between procedures.




- Assist with sterilization and proper handling/storage of surgical instruments.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stocks of surgical consumables, linen, and emergency supplies.
- Report equipment malfunction, shortages, or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain OT records, checklists, registers, and documentation as required.
- Follow hospital policies related to patient safety, biomedical waste management, and occupational safety.
- Support emergency and urgent surgical procedures when required.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and demonstrate skilled conduct at all times.

Preferred candidate profile: B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology.

Relevant clinical training/internship in an operation theatre.
