– VMC OPERATOR

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and responsible VMC Operator to operate Vertical Machining Centre machines and ensure components are produced according to the required quality and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate VMC machines as per production requirements and work instructions.
- Set and operate machines according to approved CNC programs.
- Load and unload components properly using specified fixtures and tools.
- Perform tool setting, tool offset correction, and tool changes as required.
- Monitor machining parameters such as speed, feed, depth of cut, and cycle time.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, work instructions, and process sheets.
- Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, and Gauges for inspection.
- Conduct in-process inspection and ensure components meet dimensional requirements.
- Identify abnormalities in machining, tools, fixtures, and machine conditions.
- Report quality issues and machine problems to the Supervisor / Engineer.
- Maintain proper production records, inspection reports, and machine logbooks.
- Follow 5S, safety procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).




- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping around the machine.
- Ensure minimum rejection, tool consumption, and machine downtime.
- Coordinate with Quality and Maintenance teams whenever required.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of VMC machine operation and CNC machining processes.
- Basic knowledge of CNC/VMC programming and G-code/M-code will be an advantage.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, fixtures, and tool offsets.
- Valuable knowledge of measuring instruments.
- Ability to identify dimensional and machining defects.
- Basic knowledge of 5S and workplace safety.

Qualification

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Machinist / Tool & Die or related discipline.

Experience

- 0–3 years of experience in VMC/CNC machining.
- Freshers with relevant technical qualification and basic machining knowledge may also be considered.
- Experience in the automotive machining industry will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
