Position: VMC Programmer SolidCAM

Department: Production VMC/ CNC Machining

Experience: Min.5-6 years

Location-Ghaziabad

Role & responsibilities

- Create and modify CNC/VMC programs using SolidCAM based on 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Develop machining strategies for milling, drilling, pocketing, profiling, contouring, and 3D machining.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, feeds, speeds, and machining parameters.
- Generate and verify G-code/M-code for CNC machines.
- Perform toolpath simulation, collision checking, and program optimization using SolidCAM.
- Understand engineering drawings, GD&T;, tolerances, and machining requirements.
- Work closely with the production and tooling teams to resolve machining and programming issues.
- Optimize programs to improve cycle time, tool life, surface finish, and machining efficiency.
- Support first-off component development and make necessary program corrections at the machine.
- Maintain proper documentation and revision control of CNC programs.




- Troubleshoot machining problems and recommend suitable process improvements.
- Follow company quality, safety, and production standards.

Preferred candidate profile

- ITI / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 25 years of experience in VMC programming and CNC machining.
- Positive working knowledge of SolidCAM and CNC milling operations.
- Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings and 3D models.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, feeds & speeds, and machining processes.
- Understanding of GD&T; and dimensional tolerances.
- Experience with toolpath simulation and collision detection.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as coordinate with production and quality teams.
