About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead with strong hands-on expertise in building and scaling fintech payment platforms across prepaid payment instruments (PPIs), UPI, cards, and payment processing. This is a ground-up, 0-to-1 opportunity to architect, build, and scale core payment technology and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with a robust understanding of regulatory compliance, security, reliability, and scalable system design.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Architecture &

- Strategy :
- Define and drive the technical architecture and engineering strategy for payment products and platforms, aligned with product objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Make key architectural decisions to build secure, scalable, resilient, and high-performance payment infrastructure.

Ground-Up Development &

- Integration :
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of payment infrastructure from scratch.
- Build and scale solutions across PPI wallets, UPI, prepaid and other card products, and payment processing capabilities.
- Drive integrations with banking partners, payment networks, processors, gateways, and external technology providers.

Scalability, Reliability &

- Performance :
- Design systems capable of handling growing transaction volumes while maintaining high availability and reliability.
- Establish robust monitoring, alerting, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and incident-management mechanisms.
- Continuously improve system performance, resilience, and operational efficiency.

Technical Leadership :

- Provide hands-on technical leadership across the engineering team, owning technical decisions, execution, and delivery.
- Mentor engineers, establish coding standards, and drive engineering best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Work closely with Product, Compliance, Design, and Operations teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.




- Ensure timely delivery of product features while maintaining engineering quality and operational readiness.

Regulatory Compliance &

- Security :
- Ensure technology systems adhere to applicable RBI regulations, PCI-DSS requirements, and relevant payment-network standards.
- Implement robust security controls and safeguards for payment processing and financial data.
- Embed compliance and security considerations into system architecture and development practices.

Qualifications &

Experience :

- Experience : 8 years of software development experience, with a strong focus on payments, fintech, or financial technology platforms.
- Payments Expertise : Hands-on experience building and scaling payment systems across one or more of PPI wallets, UPI, cards, or payment processing.
- Technical Expertise : Strong understanding of payment processing, API integrations, security protocols, and financial data processing.
- Credit Card Processing : Experience with credit card processing and related payment infrastructure will be an added advantage.
- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a metrics-driven approach to technical decision-making.
- Leadership : Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, mentor developers, and collaborate effectively across functions.
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field. An advanced degree is preferred.
