Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning
Plan and deliver effective Physics lessons in accordance with the prescribed school curriculum.Explain Physics concepts clearly using appropriate examples, demonstrations, experiments, and real-life applications.Develop lesson plans, teaching resources, worksheets, assignments, and learning activities.Use activity-based, inquiry-based, and experiential teaching methodologies.Integrate appropriate digital tools, simulations, presentations, and educational technology into teaching.Differentiate instruction to address varying learning abilities and learning needs.Encourage students to develop scientific thinking, problem-solving, analytical, and observation skills.
- Laboratory & Practical Work
Conduct Physics practicals and demonstrations safely and effectively.Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and storage of laboratory equipment and materials.Supervise students during laboratory activities and enforce safety procedures.Encourage students to participate in science projects, models, exhibitions, and experiments.
- Assessment & Academic Monitoring
Prepare and conduct class tests, periodic assessments, examinations, assignments, and practical evaluations.Evaluate student work accurately and provide constructive feedback.Maintain student academic records and assessment data.Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support or enrichment activities.Track student progress and communicate academic concerns to parents and school leadership when required.

Classroom
Management
Maintain a positive, inclusive, respectful,
and disciplined classroom environment.Establish transparent classroom routines and expectations.Encourage student participation, curiosity, collaboration, and responsible behaviour.Address classroom challenges appropriately in accordance with school policies.

Student
Development & Mentoring
Mentor and guide students in their academic and personal development.Support students in developing scientific aptitude and interest in STEM subjects.Encourage participation in science fairs, Olympiads, quizzes, clubs, competitions, and other academic activities.Provide additional academic support to students who require assistance.
- Academic & Administrative Responsibilities
Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, workshops, orientations, and staff development programmes.Contribute to curriculum review and improvement initiatives.Maintain required academic and administrative documentation.Coordinate with other subject teachers for interdisciplinary learning activities.Follow school policies, academic standards, child-safety requirements, and professional expectations.
- Parent & School Communication
Maintain professional communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress when required.Attend parent-teacher meetings and provide meaningful feedback on student performance.Collaborate with coordinators, counsellors,
and other teachers to support student development.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Physics / relevant Science discipline from a recognized institution.B.Ed. or equivalent teacher-training qualification, as applicable to the school's requirements.
Qualification in accordance with the applicable board/school recruitment norms.
CTET/TET qualification may be required or preferred depending on the school and board.
Experience
Prior teaching experience at the TGT/secondary school level is preferred.Fresh candidates with strong subject knowledge and teaching aptitude may also be considered, depending on school requirements.
