Company Description PatternAI is a creative research studio focused on exploring recent visual mediums and expanding imaginative possibilities through textiles and surface design. The company works at the intersection of art, technology, and subconscious exploration, translating abstract concepts into tangible patterns and materials. PatternAI encourages experimentation, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and innovative approaches to textile design.
Team members are supported in pushing creative boundaries while delivering commercially viable and aesthetically distinctive products. The organization values curiosity, originality, and a forward-looking approach to design.
Textile Designer (CAD) — Embroidery · Knitwear · Weaving · Quilting · Embellishment
· Full-time
Some designers sketch. The ones we're looking for build — stitch by stitch, end by end, row by row — inside the software a factory actually runs on.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll create original designs across techniques — embroidery, knitwear, woven jacquard, quilting and embellishment — using the same software you'd use in a design studio or an export house. You'll take a design from a first idea to a finished, production-ready file, and help our team understand what makes a design work on the machine, not just on the screen.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Create original designs by hand in industry software, across different techniques
- Take a design from concept to a production-ready file — repeats, colourways, stitch and yarn settings
- Check designs for production — stitch density, float lengths, repeat fit, hoop size, colour limits
- Build a library of design references across styles, traditions and techniques
- Work closely with our product team and share how real designers work and what they need THE SOFTWARE WE'D LOVE YOU TO KNOW
You don't need all of them. Real, hands-on depth in two or three techniques matters far more than a long list.

WHO YOU ARE
- 3+ years designing textiles hands-on in software — at a studio, mill, export house or brand
- You make the actual design file, not only the mood board
- You understand how each technique behaves on the machine and on the fabric
- A strong eye for composition, colour and proportion
- At home with both Indian and international design traditions
- A degree or diploma in textile or fashion design (NID, NIFT, Pearl Academy or similar) — or equivalent experience that speaks for itself
IT'S A BONUS IF
- You've done schiffli or multi-head embroidery punching
- You know pattern CAD — Lectra Modaris, Gerber AccuMark, Optitex or Tukatech
- You've used CLO 3D or Browzwear
- You've stood next to a machine while your file ran, and fixed what didn't work
