Position: Structural Steel & Miscellaneous Metals Estimator

Experience: 1+ Years

Job Type: Full-Time | In-Person / Office-Based

Office Location: Nashik, Maharashtra

Project Location: US-Based Construction Projects

Position Summary The Estimator will play a critical role in supporting the bidding and preconstruction process for US-based structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.

This position is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and detailed cost estimates by reviewing drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements.

The Estimator will support the estimating process from initial plan review through bid submission, ensuring that project scope, quantities, materials, labor, and potential risks are thoroughly evaluated.

Job Duties

Estimating & Preconstruction

- Prepare detailed and competitive bid estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.
- Perform complete quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Analyze architectural, structural, and shop/erection drawings and specifications to determine project scope.
- Review bid documents and identify inclusions, exclusions, gaps, and discrepancies.
- Develop accurate estimates based on project requirements and available pricing information.
- Identify potential risks and value-engineering opportunities.
- Review drawings and specifications carefully to ensure accurate quantities and scope coverage.

Bid Management

- Manage the estimating process from bid invitation through submission.
- Review bid invitations and project documents for completeness.
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain required pricing.
- Prepare and organize bid information and supporting documentation.
- Complete estimates and bid submissions within required deadlines.
- Maintain organized bid files and project documentation.

Collaboration & Communication





- Coordinate with the US-based project team through Microsoft Teams and other communication platforms.
- Support constructability reviews and validate estimating assumptions.
- Communicate scope questions, discrepancies, and estimating requirements clearly.
- Participate in virtual project discussions and coordination meetings as required.

Post-Award Support

- Assist with project handoff to the project management and operations teams.
- Provide detailed quantity takeoffs, estimate breakdowns, and assumptions.
- Support project teams with clarification of estimating scope and pricing as needed.

Systems & Process Improvement

- Develop and maintain estimating templates and Excel-based tools.
- Maintain historical pricing and estimating information.
- Utilize estimating and document-review software to improve accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain organized digital bid files and documentation.
- Continuously improve estimating processes and workflows.

Qualifications & Skills

Required

- Minimum 1+ year of experience in structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals estimating.
- Prior structural steel detailing experience is required.
- Strong ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, shop, and erection drawings.
- Experience performing material takeoffs and developing estimates.
- Working knowledge of structural steel components and erection processes.
- Ability to understand project scope, specifications, and construction documents.
- Solid attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.




- Ability to work effectively in an in-person office environment.

Preferred

- Experience working on US-based construction projects.
- Field experience in steel erection or related construction trades.
- Knowledge of:
- Pre-engineered metal building systems
- Structural steel
- Miscellaneous metals
- Roof and wall panel systems
- Familiarity with AISC standards and AWS codes.
- Familiarity with US construction practices and standards.
- Experience with steel detailing and fabrication processes.

Software & Tools

Experience with the following tools is preferred:

- BuildingConnected
- Bluebeam
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Microsoft Teams
- Other estimating, takeoff, or steel detailing software

- Ability to read and interpret erection and structural drawings
- Familiarity with construction terminology and processes
- Proficiency in Excel and Bluebeam
- Willingness to work according to US project timelines/time zones, as required

Work Arrangement

In-Person / Office-Based in Nashik, Maharashtra | US-Based Projects The selected candidate will work in person from our office while supporting the estimating and preconstruction requirements of US-based structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.
