Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the hospital stores and ensure the timely availability, proper storage, accurate inventory control, and effective distribution of medicines, medical consumables, surgical items, implants, general supplies, and other hospital materials.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in hospital stores/medical stores, inventory management, stock reconciliation, expiry management, documentation, and coordination with multiple hospital departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Store & Inventory Management

- Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the hospital stores.
- Maintain optimum stock levels for medical consumables, surgical items, general supplies, housekeeping materials, and other hospital requirements.
- Receive, inspect, verify, and properly store materials received from vendors.
- Ensure materials are issued to respective departments against approved requisitions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, stock registers, GRNs, issue records, and purchase-related documentation.
- Monitor stock levels and prepare purchase/reorder requirements based on consumption patterns and minimum stock levels.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
- Ensure accurate batch-wise and expiry-date-wise inventory management, wherever applicable.
- Follow appropriate FIFO/FEFO practices for inventory movement.
- Monitor and report slow-moving, non-moving, damaged, expired, and excess stock to the concerned authority.





Coordination & Procurement Support

- Coordinate with Purchase, Pharmacy, Accounts, Nursing, OT, Biomedical, Housekeeping, and other departments to understand and fulfill material requirements.
- Monitor vendor deliveries and coordinate with the Purchase team regarding shortages, damages, quality issues, and quantity discrepancies.
- Ensure proper documentation for material receipts, transfers, returns, and issues.
- Support purchase/reorder planning by providing accurate consumption and stock-level information.

Store Operations & Compliance

- Ensure proper storage conditions, cleanliness, safety, and systematic arrangement of all store areas.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for internal and external audits.
- Prepare regular inventory, consumption, stock movement, and other management reports.
- Monitor and control wastage, excess inventory, and unnecessary purchases.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and established inventory-control procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of hospital inventory and procurement-related information.

Team Management

- Lead, supervise, and monitor Store Executives/Assistants.
- Allocate daily responsibilities and monitor task completion.
- Train and guide store staff on inventory handling, documentation, stock movement, and store procedures.




- Ensure efficient teamwork and smooth functioning of the stores department.

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of hospital stores and inventory management.
- Hands-on experience handling medical and surgical consumables.
- Good understanding of stock reconciliation and inventory documentation.
- Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO, expiry management, and stock control.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory/Hospital Management Software (HMS/ERP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to supervise and manage a team effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

Educational Qualification Any Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in:

- Materials Management
- Logistics
- Supply Chain Management
- Commerce
- Or a relevant discipline

Candidates with prior hospital stores / medical stores experience will be preferred.
