Steward / Senior Steward

Reporting To

Captain / Restaurant Manager / F&B; Manager

Job Purpose To provide productive, courteous, and professional service to guests while maintaining high standards of food service, cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Guest Service

- Welcome and greet guests in a warm and qualified manner.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and promptly.
- Serve food and beverages according to the outlet's service standards.
- Assist guests with menu selections and provide basic product information.
- Attend to guest requests and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Ensure a positive dining experience for every guest.
- 2. Restaurant Operations
- Set up tables, side stations, and service areas before operations.
- Maintain proper table setup and service standards throughout the shift.
- Clear and reset tables efficiently.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely service.
- Follow proper sequence of service and outlet SOPs.
- Handle POS billing and order entry accurately, where applicable.

3. Hygiene & Cleanliness

- Maintain cleanliness of tables, chairs, service stations, cutlery, crockery, and glassware.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Ensure personal grooming and uniform standards are maintained at all times.
- Follow applicable FSSAI and company hygiene guidelines.

4. Inventory & Equipment

- Handle crockery, cutlery, glassware, equipment, and other F&B; assets carefully.
- Report damaged or missing items to the supervisor.




- Assist with stock replenishment and proper storage of service items.

Additional Responsibilities – Senior Steward

- Guide and supervise junior stewards during daily operations.
- Allocate service tasks and ensure smooth shift operations.
- Brief team members before the shift regarding reservations, special requests, and operational requirements.
- Monitor service quality and ensure SOP compliance.
- Support the Captain/Restaurant Manager in maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Train and coach new stewards on service procedures and outlet standards.
- Assist in handling guest complaints and operational issues.
- Coordinate with Kitchen, Bar, Housekeeping, and other departments when required.

Skills & Competencies

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Guest-focused attitude.
- Knowledge of basic F&B; service procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure during busy operations.
- Teamwork and coordination skills.
- Good grooming and personal hygiene.
- Basic knowledge of POS systems is an advantage.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Qualification & Experience

- Minimum 10th/12th pass; hospitality/F&B; certification is an advantage.
- Steward: 0–2 years of relevant experience; freshers may also be considered.
- Senior Steward: 2–4 years of relevant F&B; service experience.

Working Conditions

- Shift-based role, including weekends and holidays.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work during peak operational hours and special events.

Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
