Position: Sr. Security Consultant (L3) -Proofpoint

Location: Pune

- We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Proofpoint Email Security Administrator tmanage, support, and optimize enterprise email security infrastructure within a BFSI environment.
- The candidate will be responsible for administration, monitoring, policy management, incident handling, troubleshooting, and operational support of Proofpoint Email Security solutions while ensuring compliance with banking and regulatory security standards.
- The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience in Proofpoint technologies, email security operations, threat protection, phishing mitigation, and secure mail gateway administration.

Key Responsibilities: Administer and manage Proofpoint Email Security platforms including:

- Proofpoint Email Protection (PEP)
- Proofpoint Targeted Attack Protection (TAP)
- Proofpoint Email Fraud Defense (EFD)
- Proofpoint Threat Response / TRAP
- Proofpoint Information Protection / DLP

Monitor and analyze email threats including:
- Phishing attacks
- Business Email Compromise (BEC)
- Malware and ransomware
- Spoofing and impersonation attacks
- Malicious URLs and attachments

Configure and manage:
- Email security policies
- Anti-spam and anti-malware rules
- DLP policies
- URL defense and attachment defense




- SPF, DKIM, and DMARC policies

Perform email flow troubleshooting and mail routing analysis. Support incident investigation and remediation activities related temail-based threats.

Integrate Proofpoint solutions with

- SIEM platforms
- SOC operations
- Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online
- Active Directory / LDAP
- Perform health checks, upgrades, tuning, and optimization of the platform.
- Prepare operational reports, threat analysis dashboards, and compliance
- documentation.
- Coordinate with internal security teams, SOC analysts, Microsoft Exchange
- administrators, and vendor support teams.
- Ensure compliance with BFSI regulatory and security requirements.
- Participate in change management, patch management, and security
- governance activities.
- Provide L2/L3 operational support and participate in incident response activities.

Required Skills Experience

- 5-8 years of experience in Email Security Administration.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with Proofpoint solutions.
- Solid understanding of:
- SMTP protocol
- Secure Email Gateway technologies
- Email authentication standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Threat protection technologies
- Malware analysis concepts




- Experience with:
- Microsoft Exchange / Exchange Online
- Microsoft 365 Security
- Email routing and mail hygiene
- Incident management and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of:
- SOC operations
- SIEM integration
- Cybersecurity best practices
- BFSI security and compliance requirements
- Experience in handling phishing investigations and email threat remediation.
- Good understanding of network security concepts and TCP/IP fundamentals.

Preferred Certifications : Mandatory / Preferred Proofpoint Certifications

- Proofpoint Certified Email Protection Specialist
- Proofpoint Certified Administrator
- Other Preferred Certifications
- Any other email security solutions
- CISSP or CISM

Work Model
