Job Title: Sr. Officer – R&D; – Electronics.

Location: Vapi, Gujarat

Reports To: R&D; Lead

Experience: 2–3 Years

Job Purpose To support the design, development, integration, testing, and validation of electronic medical devices for the Women Genesis product portfolio.

The role will focus on electronics hardware, embedded firmware, sensors, physiological signal acquisition, communication interfaces, hardware-software integration, prototyping, troubleshooting, and product verification.

The position requires a hands-on R&D; engineer capable of converting product requirements into reliable electronic solutions while working within applicable medical-device quality, safety, regulatory, and documentation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Medical Electronics Product Development

- Participate in the complete R&D; lifecycle covering concept, feasibility, prototyping, development, integration, verification, validation, and product release.
- Support development of electronic systems for:
- Rigid & Portable Colposcope
- Electronic Fetal Monitor
- Fetal Doppler Monitor
- Telemetry-Based Fetal Monitoring System
- Smart Fetal Monitor
- Other Women Genesis medical-device platforms
- Translate product and system requirements into suitable electronic and embedded solutions.
- Support component selection, prototyping, system integration, testing, debugging, and design improvements.
- Work closely with senior R&D; engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, clinically relevant products.

2. Electronics Hardware Development

- Design, modify, test, and troubleshoot analog and digital electronic circuits.
- Work with:
- Microcontrollers/processors
- Sensors and transducers
- ADC/DAC
- Amplifiers and filters
- Signal-conditioning circuits
- Power and battery-management systems
- Displays and LEDs
- Communication modules
- Support schematic development, PCB design/review, BOM preparation, component selection, prototype assembly, and board bring-up.
- Evaluate components based on performance, reliability, availability, cost, and product requirements.
- Troubleshoot hardware failures through structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

3. Embedded Firmware & Hardware-Software Integration

- Develop, modify, test, and integrate embedded firmware using C/C++ and relevant microcontroller platforms.
- Develop and debug drivers and interfaces for sensors, displays, communication modules, memory, ADC/DAC and other peripherals.
- Support device control logic, data acquisition, alarms, monitoring, communication, and device-status management.
- Perform hardware-firmware integration and troubleshoot interface-level issues.
- Use appropriate IDEs, programmers, debuggers, logic analyzers, and other development tools.
- Maintain source code using appropriate version-control practices.

4. Physiological Signal Acquisition & Fetal Monitoring

- Support development of electronic systems for fetal and maternal physiological monitoring.
- Work with signals/technologies such as:
- Fetal Heart Rate (FHR)
- Doppler-based fetal monitoring
- Maternal heart rate
- TOCO / uterine activity
- ECG and other physiological signals
- Support signal acquisition, amplification, filtering, sampling, ADC conversion, noise reduction, and signal conditioning.
- Investigate signal-quality issues including noise, interference, artifacts, instability, and signal integrity.




- Support integration of sensors and physiological signals with embedded processing and user interfaces.

5. Fetal Doppler, Wireless & Telemetry Systems

- Support electronics development for Fetal Doppler and telemetry-based monitoring systems.
- Work with Doppler transducers, signal-acquisition electronics, amplification, filtering, and embedded processing.
- Support integration of Bluetooth/BLE, Wi-Fi, RF/wireless telemetry, and other communication technologies.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, communication stability, latency, range, packet loss, synchronization, and interference issues.
- Participate in wireless module integration and system-level testing.

6. Colposcope & Imaging Electronics

- Support electronic development and integration for Rigid and Portable Colposcope systems.
- Work with:
- Camera/image sensors
- LED illumination
- Displays
- Image-acquisition systems
- Electronic/optical interfaces
- Power and control electronics
- Support camera and sensor integration with embedded systems.
- Troubleshoot image quality, illumination, electronic noise, connectivity, and performance issues.
- Collaborate with optical, mechanical, software, and clinical teams.

7. Prototyping, Debugging & Laboratory Testing

- Build and test electronic prototypes and proof-of-concept systems.
- Perform PCB bring-up, power-up, interface verification, subsystem testing, and system integration.
- Use laboratory equipment such as:
- Digital Multimeter
- Oscilloscope
- Logic Analyzer
- Function Generator
- DC Power Supply
- Electronic Load
- Spectrum/RF equipment, where applicable
- Perform component-level and system-level troubleshooting.
- Conduct structured RCA and corrective design improvements.
- Document technical observations, failures, corrective actions, and test results.

8. Verification, Validation & Product Testing

- Develop and execute engineering test plans, test cases, protocols, and reports.
- Support:
- Design Verification
- Design Validation
- Functional Testing
- Performance Testing
- Electrical Safety Testing
- Environmental/Reliability Testing
- Regression Testing
- Identify, document, and resolve defects.
- Verify hardware and firmware changes before product release.
- Support pre-compliance and product qualification activities.

9. Medical Device Quality & Regulatory Compliance

- Follow established medical-device development and quality processes.
- Support engineering documentation and compliance activities in coordination with Quality and Regulatory teams.
- Maintain awareness/exposure to:
- IEC 60601 – Medical Electrical Equipment
- IEC 62304 – Medical Device Software
- ISO 13485 – Quality Management Systems
- ISO 14971 – Risk Management
- Applicable EMC and electrical-safety requirements
- Applicable CE, FDA and Indian regulatory requirements
- Support risk analysis, FMEA, hazard identification, risk controls, and design-change documentation.

10. Engineering Documentation & Design Transfer

- Prepare and maintain:
- Schematics
- PCB documentation
- BOMs
- Component specifications
- Interface specifications
- Test specifications
- Technical reports




- Maintain revision-controlled hardware and firmware documentation.
- Support component lifecycle management and alternate component identification.
- Support design transfer, pilot production, manufacturing troubleshooting, calibration, test fixtures, and End-of-Line testing.
- Support DFM/DFT initiatives for production-ready designs.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

Bachelor's degree in

- Electronics & Communication Engineering

- Or a related engineering discipline

Experience

- 2–3 years of relevant experience in:
- Electronics R&D;
- Embedded Systems
- Medical Electronics
- Medical Devices
- Healthcare Technology
- Product Development
- Hands-on experience in electronics hardware and hardware-software integration.
- Experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems, PCB/schematic development, debugging, and electronic testing.
- Experience with C/C++ or equivalent embedded programming languages.
- Medical-device industry experience will be strongly preferred.
