The Position

We are looking for an experienced AWS Data Engineering Technical Lead to design, build, and deliver reliable, high-performance data solutions on AWS.This role combines hands-on technical leadership— you'll design and build robust data pipelines, data frameworks, data governance (quality, privacy) solutions and will set engineering standards. This role also requires to work with Global Roche and vendor partner teams

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows on AWS
- Architect data lake, data warehouse,



and lakehouse solutions using services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Lake Formation, and Athena
- Define and enforce data engineering best practices: coding standards, CI/CD, testing, version control, and code review processes
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of data engineers, including task planning, code reviews, and career development
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts, data scientists, and data product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Design and implement data orchestration workflows using tools like Apache Airflow (MWAA), Step Functions, or similar
- Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance across pipelines and storage layers
- Optimize pipeline performance, cost, and scalability across batch and streaming architectures (Kinesis, MSK/Kafka)
- Own infrastructure-as-code practices for data infrastructure using Terraform or CloudForm
